Dunbar Adult Day Health is a member of Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency, Inc. This affiliation is a safeguard for the clients that we serve. Being a member of the Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency means staff is well versed in the referral process to other LCCAA programs and community resources. If there is an unmet need, we have a large agency of programs that can help. Our center is privileged to have a Geriatric Health Consultant, Dr. Lynda Wilkerson, PhD. Dr. Wilkerson is a valuable asset to our center, as she has over 40 years of expertise. This expertise laid the groundwork for our facility's opening and is an invaluable reference that helps ensure Dunbar ADH clients receive the highest quality of services. Dunbar ADH is the only not for profit Adult Day Health Care provider in the Lake Cumberland service area. We never put money before the needs of the clients we serve. The revenue generated by the adult day health is reinvested into a wide array of LCCAA programs that ensure the Lake Cumberland region's low-income population has access to economic and social opportunities. Our center staff includes Kelly York, Assistant Administrator, Robert Stevenson, facility aide, Linda Wilkerson, Activities Director. Counting the 20 years of nursing experience of ADH Administrator, Crystal Dillingham, Dunbar Adult Day clients are served by a nursing team that boasts 106 years of combined nursing experience. The client care nursing team consists of Beverly Hicks, RN, Deborah Stevenson, LPN, and Sandra Tucker, LPN. The services we offer in the Adult Day Health center include respite, skilled nursing care, health monitoring, medication management, personal care, wellness education, socialization, transportation coordination, and recreational activities. Our clients enjoy a delicious home-cooked breakfast, lunch, and a snack. In July 2019, Dunbar Adult Day Health Services began providing in-home attendant care services in Clinton and Pulaski Counties. In just over a year, that program now serves Russell, Wayne, Clinton, Pulaski, and Casey Counties. We are currently serving 42 clients with a total of ten attendant care aides. Our attendant care services assist the elderly or disabled with daily living activities such as shopping, laundry, housekeeping, transportation to and from appointments, and personal care. Our aides also enable clients to participate in community activities such as church, festivals, and family gatherings. The Medicaid Waiver Program is the primary payer source for the services of Dunbar. The Medicaid Waiver Program includes both Home and Community-based Waiver as well as Michelle P. In most cases, our services are completely covered by insurance, the client is not required to pay anything! However, self-pay and private insurance clients are accepted on a case by case basis. We are located at 255 South Maple Street in Somerset. Contact us @ 606-802-2382.
