Hospice of Lake Cumberland enhances quality of life and creates opportunity for meaning and dignity by providing comfort, care and support for those at or nearing end of life. Hospice services are available to
persons who can no longer benefit from curative treatment and need symptom management to improve quality of life. Hospice care includes:
Home visits by Hospice team members including nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers; medications, medical equipment and supplies; medical social services; spiritual care; continuous care during periods of crisis; 24 hour a day on-call assistance; emotional support and counseling; and physical
comfort through pain and symptom management. Jean Waddle Care Center
Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center is a short-term inpatient hospice facility that provides all of the hospice benefits plus the advantage of being in a facility that has 24/7 hospice staff and a home-like feel. The facility is designed to help patients that need additional support, including symptom control; relief to the caregiver; or possibly fulfilling the patientβs wish to not die at home. Bereavement support offers help in coping with the loss of a loved one. Hospice is committed to helping people who are grieving. Hospice of Lake Cumberland staff is available to help in whatever way that families are most comfortable- by phone, in person or even by email. Hospice of Lake Cumberland provides reading materials, grief education, support meetings and even holiday support for 13 months after the death. Children grief groups and Camp Promise are also available to children who have lost a loved one.
