The Development
Margaret obtained her massage therapy certificate in 2007 at Berdan Institute in Wayne, NJ and two years later she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in 2009 at Montclair State University. Later on, she went on to acquire many certifications that assisted with the development of The “O-wu-su” Technique. Her training in anatomy, neuromuscular therapy, and integrated sports techniques allow her to offer her clients effective results for pain and symptom relief from sport injuries, repetitive stress injuries, structural imbalances and pre/post musculoskeletal surgical issues. Aside from her necessary massage therapist license, and countless other accreditation's such as training in myofascial release and several other stretching techniques. To advance her knowledge in the health and wellness field, she received her certification in Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). Originated in 1995 by “Stretch to Win” founders Ann and Chris Frederick(www.stretchtowin.com). Margaret learned a non- aggressive method of stretching the fascial muscle to provide relief to clients through the decompressing of muscle tissues.
Margaret’s desire to raise the bar in providing unparalleled services propelled her to develop The Owusu Technique, with her own signature touch added, it is the first of its kind, worldwide. It started out of a modest one room facility and has now grown to two locations: Mahwah, New Jersey and Somerset, New Jersey serving North and Central New Jersey. It was initially a table-based stretch that was later integrated into a therapeutic massage flow in which she developed a system of synchronized, gentle, yet effective, safe stretches. After receiving great feedback for the service, she recognized the need to cater to clients with chronic issues that had complications with table-based stretching and developed “The Owusu Technique floor-mat-assisted 1-on-1 stretching.” After experiencing our one of a kind stretch-massage, our clients quickly grasp our motto, “Stress Less and Stretch More” They leave feeling as if their body has been reset, energetic yet relaxed and in one session you will notice a wider range of motion and flexibility.
