The next three weeks will include a lot of family gatherings, workplace parties, and community events. Viruses spread easily, but simple everyday actions can make a big difference in keeping our families and communities healthy. ๐Ÿฆ
One of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of illness is **washing your hands regularly**โ€”itโ€™s the number one line of defense. Pair that with smart habits and awareness, and we can all help slow the spread and protect those most vulnerable. ๐Ÿ’™

Community Health Workers (CHWs) serve as vital links between healthcare systems and the communities they serve, promoting health, providing education, and advocating for individual needs. CHWs often come from the same communities they serve, giving them insight into the cultural and social challenges their friends and neighbors face.
Thank you to our LCDHD Community Health Workers for all you do in our community!

๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ„ Holiday Safety Tip๐ŸŽ„
๐ŸŽ„ When choosing a Christmas tree, opt for artificial ones labeled "Fire Resistant" (not all artificial trees are fire resistant!). If you go for a natural tree, check that itโ€™s fresh and not too dry. โœ‚๏ธ Trim the trunk at a 45-degree angle (at least 2 inches) and let it soak in water for 24 hours before bringing it inside. ๐Ÿ’ง
๐Ÿ”ฅ Fun fact: Half of home Christmas tree fires happen between December 22nd and January 5th. Be safe and throw out your tree when it starts to dry out. A dry tree is a dangerous tree!

No child should have to face bullying alone. ๐Ÿ’› If you notice changes in a childโ€™s behavior, mood, or routines, it could be a sign that something deeper is going on. Trust your instincts, check in with them, and let them know youโ€™re there to listen. Together, we can create safer, kinder spaces for every child. ๐Ÿงก
If you believe a child is being bullied, reach out to their school, a trusted adult, or a local support resource for help.
