When we asked Amanda what inspired her to chose veterinary medicine she said, “ My grandma always had a huge heart to all the animals she crossed paths with. & I definitely followed suit. But, definitely being able to be the voice for the injured or hurting pets. & to give as much assistance as I can to watch them thrive!”

If you’ve ever been by the office in the afternoon you’ve definitely had the opportunity to meet Mantha! Our office isn’t her regular job as she’s an RN in surgery @ LCRH. But she joins us after her shift to fill in for those that need off and to give a helping hand always! She’s definitely someone you want on your team as you know you can always count on her! Mantha has always had a heart for animals and it shows through her work @ the office!

🐾🩺 Somerset Animal Hospital- Vet Tech/Staff Appreciation Week 🩺🐾

Brittany wears many hats at SAH. The “ultimate multitasker” is the biggest one she wears. Daily, for the past 19 years , it has varied between clients, pets, fellow employees and family. No matter the circle, she makes it look effortless as the task gets completed! You’ll find her upfront, answering phones, triaging patients and doing inventory making sure our office has all required supplies. Her hard work and dedication keep everything running smoothly — we’re so thankful for her this week and always! Let’s give a big shoutout to Brittany as we show her our appreciation.

🐾🩺 Somerset Animal Hospital- Vet Tech/Staff Appreciation Week 🩺🐾

I’m sure most of you have seen this young lady around the office over the last 20 years! Trinity is at office helping out every chance she gets. Let’s give Miss Trinity some love. Trinity is Dr Burkett and Pam’s youngest daughter who is currently in her 2nd year @ Auburn University- College of Veterinary Medicine. We asked Trinity why she selected Veterinary Medicine & she said “I’ve always liked animals! I saw how my dad was able to change peoples lives through helping their pets and I always knew I wanted to go into medicine. Veterinary medicine to me is a fun puzzle of using everything to diagnose and treat the patients because they can’t talk to you! A fun fact about Miss Trinity is she loves musicals(So excited for November 21st💕🧙🏼‍♀️).

When we asked her what she loved most about working in veterinary medicine she said its the reward in knowing a pet from a young age come into the office and seeing them grow. Dr. Davis has been with Somerset Animal Hospital since August of 2021 🐾🩺

When we ask Dr Davis why she chose Veterinary Medicine: “I have always loved animals and felt drawn to helping them since I was a little girl. I was constantly bringing strays or injured animals home to my parents as a child. Veterinary medicine is the best of both worlds. You get to help animals, be a part of the human/animal bond, and work with people.”

Somerset Animal Hospital has been locally owned by the Burkett’s for 21 years! While all of our clients know Dr Burkett, his wife Pam is our practice manager. Pam does all the behind the scenes work to make sure our practice is functioning properly! Without them, our practice wouldn’t be what it is today! Big dogs!

There’s so many!! It’s always rewarding to see all the sick pets go home healthy with their owners after staying with us!

I have a German Shepard, a golden retriever, and a cat.
