Here's how it works:

We provide personalized support for things like job readiness, self-care, budgeting, and independent living.

Back to the grindstone, students are working hard getting back to our new semester.
Classes today are sewing, home decor and home maintenance.

Every year in between our class semesters we have a few weeks of “break” and each week we do something different. This week we did our interpretation of the show Shark Tank. Students were asked to take an everyday object and modify it and present it to our “sharks.”
A lot of thought was put into these ideas. Couldn’t be more proud of our teams.

A New Beginning Achievement Center

A New Beginning Achievement Center (ANBAC) is an agency committed to educating, preparing, and supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities ages of 18 years of age and up during life transitions into independent community living. A New Beginning Achievement Center is a place where these individuals can receive one-to-one guidance, with a trained staff, to help them learn the skills to become successful in their homes, in a job and within the community. A New Beginning Achievement Center is an infrastructure built to accomplish this needed understanding.

The following skills training and more will be available through group classes, structured environment set up and one-to-one high intensity training:

Financial Skills (budgeting, math, money management, saving, avoiding financial pitfalls, etc.)

Social Skills (appropriate social interactions, relationship building, appropriately expressing needs, etc.)

Educational Skills (computer skills, reading, writing, spelling, etc.)

Assistive Daily Living Skills (grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, etc.)

Independent Living Skills (shopping, cooking, cleaning, medication management, sewing, gardening, etc.)

Independent Thinking Skills (personal goal development, identifying risks, problem solving, self-awareness, etc.)

Employment Skills (following directions, staying on task, group instruction, following rules and expectations, time management, etc.)

Safety Skills (environment safety in home and community, internet safety, s*x education, basic first aid, etc.)

Community Participation Skills (accessing the community, participating in events, building relationships with non-caregivers, leisure activities, etc.)

Due to the commitment of each student receiving one-to-one training with a trained staff, the center’s environment is able to consistently provide an atmosphere for focus, support and spotlighting the achievements as each individual reaches their weekly and monthly goals.
