The Center for Great Expectations

The Center for Great Expectations Providing transformational treatment to women, children, men and families impacted by trauma, abuse and neglect.

There are significant barriers to treatment for pregnant and parenting people. Too often, pregnant people are turned away from treatment, and mothers are separated from their children in order to access care. These barriers do not support recovery, they undermine it.

We believe treatment should strengthen families, not divide them. Learn more about family-centered recovery. https://www.cge-nj.org/you-again-the-stigma-of-addiction-i-experienced-firsthand/

Recovery from substance use disorder is a lifelong process, much like managing diabetes or cancer. Yet most treatment models remain short-term, creating a “revolving door” of treatment, relapse, and return to care.
Long-term, trauma-informed treatment is essential for sustained recovery.

This month, we invite you to reflect on how systems can better support long-term healing: https://www.nctsn.org/

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Month is a time to collectively reflect on how SUD treatment is delivered, how effective it truly is, and what must change for greater impact.

Studies show relapse rates ranging from 40%–90% after treatment, and according to SAMHSA, only 42% of individuals successfully complete treatment.

Recovery is not a one-time event, it is a lifelong journey. Our systems must evolve to reflect that reality.

A donated house. Twelve women. One mission.
That’s how The Center for Great Expectations began in 1998. Today, we serve over 600 people each year through trauma-informed care, housing, treatment, and long-term support. A heartfelt thank you to Ivy Slater Slater Success Coaching for inviting Peg to be a guest on Her Success Story to share this journey of healing, leadership, and community.

This week, we’re celebrating a big milestone at The Center for Great Expectations — we currently have 4 toddlers who are potty training! 🎉

One of our greatest needs right now is Pull-Ups. These everyday essentials may seem small, but they make a huge difference for our families.

You can help today by donating Pull-Ups directly through our Amazon Wishlist: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1VJSNMOGF7FCQ?ref_=list_d_wl_lfu_nav_4
