Ear mites are tiny mites, barely visible to the human eye, that live on the surface of ear canal skin in dogs (and cats). They are barely visible to the human eye. An infestation produces brownish ear wax, similar in appearance to coffee grounds. Ear mites are contagious and can travel from the ears of an infected dog or cat to any other dogs and cats. Pets who are infected with ear mites typically have very itchy and irritated ears and frequently scratch at their ears or shake their heads. The ears can become red and inflamed, and rashes or other skin disorders can occur on the skin around the ear If your pet's ears appear red, inflamed or irritated, or you see waxy debris inside their ears, consult with your veterinarian for a definitive diagnosis and treatment options.

Watch the treat bowl!
Halloween, the frightening family fun, is around the corner. Please, use safety precautions to avoid a hazardous time for our four-legged companions. Halloween can pose several potential safety hazards for pets, who tend to experience high levels of stress due to frequent holiday interaction. Following the tips below will help keep you and your four-legged family members safe and happy this Halloween.
-Take a cue from your pet and avoid costumes if they display signs of stress during dress-up.
- You can use a Halloween-themed leash or fun bandana around the collar instead.
-If your dog or cat seems upset by the Halloween celebration, it's best to keep them separated in a private area of your home with fresh water and comfy bedding.
- Some costumes block their sight and make it difficult for them to recognize you.
- Avoid costumes that make it difficult for them to breathe comfortably.
-use Halloween costumes that are made for pets.
-Beware of any tags, tabs, strings, or lace. Pets frequently chew or tripe on them.
- Update your pets' ID tags. Just in case!!
-Watch the treat bowl! Candies and human food can be toxic to pets. Particularly chocolate and xylitol are standard in many sweets.
-Keep candy out of reach of pets and in secure containers
