🎄✨ SLP-Approved Christmas List: Therapy Favorites Edition! ✨🎄
Looking for gifts that are fun, engaging, and secretly packed with speech + language power? Here are four of our absolute must-haves for a festive, language-rich holiday season:

🎁 1. Play-Doh
The ultimate SLP classic! Perfect for working on:
• Action words (roll, squish, cut, push)
• Describing words (soft, big, sticky, long)
• Pretend play
• Turn-taking and requesting (“I want blue,” “More please”)
Plus… kids never get tired of it. Ever.

🎁 2. No-Spill Bubbles
Magic for engagement and communication—without the mess! Great for:
• Joint attention
• Sounds like pop, up, go
• Requesting help (“open,” “more,” “blow”)
• Turn-taking and social interaction
Tiny gift, BIG language moments.

🎁 3. Surprise Party Boxes by Learning Resources
A huge hit in therapy! These little boxes make building language feel like opening a present every time. Targets include:
• Vocabulary growth
• Colors, categories, and describing words
• Expanding sentences (“I found a…” “It goes with…”)
• Early problem-solving and prediction skills

🎁 4. Critter Clinic
A favorite for pretend play AND expressive language. Kids love being the “vet”! Perfect for:
• Labeling animals and tools
• Following directions
• Using verbs (open, fix, help, feed)
• Social language + imaginative storytelling
• Early pronouns and sentence structure

🎅✨ Add these to your child’s Christmas list for endless fun and powerful learning opportunities. These toys make play purposeful—and that’s the best kind of gift!

Need help choosing based on your child’s goals? Just ask! 🎁🗣️💬

⭐️ Employee Spotlight: Hailee Scarafile (Speech-Language Pathologist) 💫
This month, we’re excited to spotlight Hailee Scarafile, an outstanding Speech-Language Pathologist whose compassion, creativity, and commitment to evidence-based care make her an invaluable member of our Northeast Speech and Language Services team.

Hailee earned her Master of Medical Science in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Sheffield in England. 🎉 Why We LOVE Jelly Blox in Speech Therapy! 🧩💬

If your child has been in our sessions lately, you may have seen our newest obsession… Jelly Blox! These squishy, colorful gems aren’t just fun—they’re a sneaky and super effective speech-language tool.

✨ How We Use Jelly Blox for Vocabulary:

-Size & Descriptors: big/small, soft/hard, sticky/smooth, tall/short
-Quantitative/Qualitative concepts: more/less, all/some, one/first/last
-Actions: pull, stack, stretch, squish, push, build, squeeze, poke
-Location Concepts: on top, under, next to, in, out

🗣️ Amazing for Articulation Too!
Jelly Blox are perfect for embedding target sounds into play:
/s/ blends→ stack, squish, squeeze, smash

Kids stay motivated because the play feels natural and sensory-rich—and we get dozens of trials without them even realizing it! 🎯🙌

💡 Parents: want to reinforce skills at home? Grab a set and try narrating play, offering choices, or modeling your child’s target words in a fun, low-pressure way.

🧠 Play-based learning = speech magic. ✨
