Full Moon in Aries Collective Card Reading 🌕✨ Three of Wands, Ten of Cups, Eight of Stones

The fiery energy of Aries is meant to help us channel our spark into the world by blazing trails, embracing what makes us unique, and leading with our special gifts. At the same time, none of us are meant to move through life alone. We are each an essential part of a larger community. Our actions affect the whole, and therefore, we have a responsibility to consider our place in the interconnected web of life. The Ten of Cups reminds us to take stock of our chosen family. Who helps you remember that you belong, that you are always loved, always home? Especially in moments when the pain of the world feels overwhelming, call in the power of your emotional support systems. Decide here and now to reach out and connect.

The Three of Wands asks us to look at the big picture, to consider where we want our energy to take us going forward. Where are you ready to invest more of yourself? What really matters to you? What are you ready to learn, and who can you collaborate with to make your dreams and visions a real act of service in the landscape of what is needed? The Eight of Stones asks us to be patient with the process of becoming, to start where we are and know that it does not have to be perfect. We get to hone our craft over time and trust that each small step on the path, every single act of love we share with the world, adds up to the contribution our purpose guides us to make.

May we recognize the power of our relationships as mirrors for the light we as individuals are ready to shine. May we know how held and loved we are even in the moments when we feel alone. May we take good care of each other.

My earliest memory of feeling like a witch is playing around a tree my friends and I dubbed “The Magic Tree” in the parking lot of our Catholic school. I was in kindergarten. The sap poured out in thick, amber glops, generously dripping down the bark. I don’t remember all the specifics, but I do know I felt more inspired by that tree and picking the little flowers that grew at the base of its trunk than I did sitting in the pews during mass twice a week.

Still, coming out of the broom closet took decades. It was almost as hard for me as coming out as gay. I knew people would have misconceptions, even fears or prejudice. But I already knew what it felt like to be an outsider, defiant and proud as I carved my own path. It was a reclaiming, a homecoming to myself and all the things I believed before trying to conform. I credit my q***rness for helping me be brave enough to embrace the magic that was there from the very beginning.

Ask fifty witches what it means to be a witch and you’ll probably get fifty different answers. We each create our own lives, values, and beliefs while honoring those who came before. I come from generations of intuitive women and healers, not all of whom identified as witches, but I believe some did. I hope that in calling myself a witch, I can help reclaim it for all people who wish to live in the fullness and fierceness of their own magic and use it for good in the world.

As a witch, I believe that we co-create our existence with Spirit and the universe. I believe it is our calling to work for justice, liberation, joy, love, and pleasure for all beings. I believe that the great collective consciousness made up of our ancestors, spirits guides, and our own inner knowing is always there to guide us, protect us, and love us unconditionally. All we have to do is learn how to listen and connect.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces Collective Card Reading 🌕✨ Four of Stones, Nine of Wands, Strength

The Nine of Wands—pictured here as a big cat waiting for the right moment to pounce as it hides behind the tall grass, under what totally looks like an eclipse—asks us to prioritize our energy and trust our divine timing. Where can you ease up and surrender right now, knowing that change is actively happening without you having to lift a finger? Can you allow the transformation to unfold in its own due time rather than struggling to push forward when your energy is calling for a sacred pause? Slowing down doesn’t mean you won’t get where you want to go, and maybe, just maybe, it will feel even better if you take your time getting there rather than rushing ahead.

The Four of Stones (Pentacles) emphasizes the need for rest on a physical level, a firming up of boundaries, a call to ground ourselves in the here and now. Our bodies, these vessels that house our spirit, deserve our patience, love, and care. What would be easier if you started listening to your body rather than bypassing its natural rhythms?

Strength asks us to harness the power of compassion and vulnerability even in the face of heartache. Make space for your emotions, but try not to react from a place that is solely driven by them. Instead, how can you open your heart even in the face of pain? Trust that you in doing so, you will be seen and held by those who love you both in this life and by those who came before.

The Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 7 highlights our need to let go of the past, end patterns of overthinking, and embrace the spiritual gifts that are ready to awaken within us.

Eclipses are portals for change and transformation that we experience twice a year, a way of catapulting into new timelines or discovering more of our soul purpose as they activate the nodes of the moon, which are associated with our past and our future.

Conjunct the North Node in Pisces, we are encouraged to shed anything that stands between us and compassion, both for ourselves and others. There could be major creative breakthroughs, psychic downloads, or a tearful release as we understand more clearly what needs to end so new chapters can begin.

Opposite the Sun in Virgo conjunct Mercury and the South Node, we could find ourselves clinging to memories or stories that no longer serve us. Our inner critic could also be extra loud during this time, or we may feel overwhelmed by deep bouts of worry. The more we can let ourselves dissolve into meditation, writing, laughter, or any activities that help us feel more connected to the best of humanity, the smoother this wave of healing energies will be able to wash over us.

Trine Jupiter in Cancer and Chiron in Aries, this is a potent opportunity to reparent ourselves, to become our best inner caretaker, to firm up our boundaries, and say no to self-sacrificing ways of being. I created Heronkind Stories & Healing after nearly 15 years of personal practice in energy healing and a lifelong passion for the natural and spiritual world. 🌿✨

I’m a Sag Sun, Cancer Moon, Libra Rising. I share my life with my beautiful wife, our sweet dog, and many plant babies. I was born and raised on Tequesta, Taino, Mascogo, Miccosukee, and Seminole land (also called Southeast FL) and have lived on Pawtucket and Massachussett land (also called Somerville, MA) for over a decade. 🌈

New Moon in Virgo Collective Card Reading 🌑✨ Harvest of Thunder, Temperance, Four of Thunder

This rare Black Moon—the second new moon in a month—gives us a supercharged opportunity to start fresh, clear out what we’re ready to let go, and make space for the healing lessons that are on the horizon with eclipse season. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of thought, communication, and ideas. The cards here indicate that we are being called to give our weary minds a rest, to trust that the more we surrender, the more clear and powerful our wisdom will become.

Temperance brings themes of balance, moderation, and alchemy. Can you begin to parse out what is in your control and what isn’t? After you’ve taken the action steps necessary—including thinking things through, coming up with a plan, writing or speaking your intentions—can you then allow Spirit, the universe, and your ancestors to help steer you in the right direction? Temperance wants us to turn some of the load over, to release the heavy weight from our shoulders and stand firmly in our belief that we are supported beyond what our eyes can see.

The Harvest of Thunder (King of Swords) reminds us that we do have inherent wisdom, and that our voice matters. Rather than muddying the message by trying to do and say everything, can we hone in on exactly what it is we need to share without wasting our breath? We are capable of befriending our mind rather than letting it exhaust us. The Four of Thunder reiterates the need for rest, for a soft space where we can stop over-analyzing and trying to force the issue, knowing that it is often when we let go that the best insights come through.

May we learn how to harness the beauty of our intelligence and intuition with this new moon, clearing the way for our wisest, most grounded and heart-led dreams to emerge in service of the world.

Celebrating 4 years of Heronkind! 🎉✨

Four years ago today, I launched this healing practice in the middle of a pandemic. I had known for a while that it was time to make a change. I felt there was something more that wanted to be channeled up through me. Part of me certainly thought it was crazy to start a small business in the midst of so much uncertainty. It took writing a book, leaving my nonprofit job, grappling with the fear and grief of a changing world, saying yes to my intuition, and the tremendous support of my wife, ancestors, and spirit guides to take the leap and trust that I was ready.

I started Heronkind because I knew that wherever life took me, the spiritual practices that I turned to throughout my journey were a guiding light that needed to be shared with others. My dream was for Heronkind to bloom into a community where people could get in touch with their own magic, recognize their gifts, and learn how to share them in service of healing themselves and helping each other heal. When I look around at all the beautiful souls who help make Heronkind a success, I know that dream is real now. From the clients who open their hearts during our sessions, to the fellow small businesses who open their doors for us make some magic together, thank you. To my incredible friends and family for all your love and support, thank you. It means everything to me.

Honestly, it feels weird celebrating when there is still so much pain and upheaval, but it also affirms exactly why I do what I do. I truly believe we each have superpowers that will lead us to a better world. I know that our individual healing and collective healing are one in the same. The more we allow ourselves to tap into the unconditional love and intuitive power that are always available to us, the more we’ll be able to let those natural gifts to shine and change the world for the better. My hope is that each of us will find the spark within and let it to be our North Star through whatever comes our way. Cheers to four years and many, many more to come 💖
