We just received our certificate of occupancy. Ready for practice!

My very first pose in our new hOMe:

Warrior II (a grounding pose)
Virabhadra = the name of a fierce warrior, an incarnation of Shiva, described as having a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, and a thousand feet, wielding a thousand clubs and wearing a tiger’s skin~
I can feel it!

It looks like winter is sticking around, so thought to share runner’s words of wisdom through observation.

I ran a quiet country road this morning to pick up my car from the mechanic. No sidewalk or shoulder, just enough space for the cars.

One thing became very clear: you can’t assume a driver sees you. Safety is shared.

Each time a car approached, I stepped as far to the side as possible, made eye contact, waved, and smiled. Not to be friendly—
but to be visible.

And it worked.
When I acknowledged drivers, they slowed down.
When I kept my head down, cars passed too fast and too close.

That small human signal changed their behavior.

Winter roads are slippery and even on a bright day visibility is difficult. Slowing down protects both the runner and the driver. A wave and a smile turns you from part of the background into a person sharing the road.
So I am sharing with my fellow winter outdoor warriors:
• Don’t assume you’re seen
• Make eye contact with drivers
• Wave or acknowledge them
• Move to the edge of the road early
• Stay alert and visible

Running in the snow isn’t just about traction and layers. It’s about communication.

Because safety on winter roads doesn’t fall solely on cars. But just as much, you!
It’s something we must practice together. So lace up your runners, bundle up and be safe!
See you all at YO!
