Hi, I’m Allie, founder of The Pilates Rx. We offer concierge private pilates instruction and physical therapy services for the modern athlete. Whether you are recovering from an injury or simply looking for an extra edge to enhance your performance, let an expert help you do what you love to do, better. All of our services are customized and designed specifically for you, with your lifestyle in mind, and provided by a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over a decade of training in rehabilitation and pilates. We provide premium, evidence-based wellness care to keep you strong, healthy and active across the lifespan.

This business has been a dream of mine since I started studying as a Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Connecticut (go Huskies!) . While practicing locally in the Boston area, I found many limitations with traditional physical therapy and exercise programs, both for myself, and for my patients. I turned to pilates for a new approach. I began training with the Polestar Pilates program as a rehabilitation provider, and have been teaching group classes and private lessons since 2016. I’ve worked with clients ranging from “weekend warriors” to professional athletes and have seen the transformative powers of pilates in their movement efficiency. After 5 years of practicing in the traditional healthcare setting and teaching pilates as my “side hustle”, I finally decided to take the leap of faith, and open The Pilates Rx to allow for more personalized attention with my clients, and to integrate the brilliance of pilates for the modern athlete.

While opening my business at the start of a global pandemic was not exactly in the plans, I’ve taken this time to divert, and grow. In only a matter of weeks, we developed online offerings including telemedicine, as well as virtual group and private pilates instruction. While it has been wonderful to see and connect with so many old and new faces virtually, we are anxious to get back into our physical space. Thankfully, this pandemic has allowed me more time and energy to develop the infrastructure to soar once we are able to physically open our space again. One day, this will be quite the story to tell. In the meantime, keep checking in for updates as we monitor this constantly changing situation, and we look forward to making you the best athlete you can be, as your concierge private pilates and physical therapy provider!
