Empower Somerset brought teens and families together at the American Dream Mall for a day of connection, growth, and fun! Participants practiced valuable communication skills, such as active listening and overcoming common barriers between teens and parents. 💬

Empower recently hosted a youth enrichment workshop at the Middlesex College Perth Amboy Center, bringing youth together for a day of learning and skill-building. Youth participated in discussions and activities focused on emotional intelligence, stress management, and ways to enhance leadership skills. Bound Brook High School celebrated SEL Day with a full day of wellness, mindfulness, and school spirit 💫

Students heard from guest speaker Dr. Jacynth Joyce, joined in “Mindful Minute” breaks, and snapped pics at a Positive Affirmation Photo Booth 📸. Music between classes and a student vs. staff volleyball game kept the energy high. 🏐

Staff joined wellness sessions led by Athletic Trainer Moises Azcona, enjoyed Pride Protein Shakes, and participated in a special SEL-focused meeting. A Dress Down Day added to the relaxed, supportive vibe.

SEL Day brought the BBHS community together and highlighted the importance of emotional well-being 💛
