Thank you to all the departments who participated in and supported our Safety Fair this week. With 228 employees attending and 17 presenter groups sharing their expertise, the event was a tremendous success.

In recognition of Patient Safety Awareness Week, RWJUH Somerset hosted a two-day, March Madness–themed Safety Fair featuring interactive displays and hands-on activities focused on keeping our patients—and each other—safe. Nurses also had the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.

The fair included education on important topics such as fire safety, falls prevention, safe patient handling, emergency management, workplace violence, and hand hygiene.

This event was held in memory of longtime clinical nurse educator Nellie Sun, honoring her lasting impact on patient safety and education. 🏥💙

Happy Employee Appreciation Day! 🎉

Leadership rounded throughout the hospital last night, this morning, and this afternoon to reach every shift, sharing treats and smiles with our teams. Each group wheeled around special “Jolly Trolley's” carrying coffee and hot chocolate. A huge shout out to Mario from our Facilities team for building the carts and helping make the day extra fun!

Today, team members at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset gathered at the Steeplechase Cancer Center wearing blue in recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. 💙

Together, our employees showed their support for raising awareness, encouraging screenings, and standing with those affected by colorectal cancer. Early detection saves lives—and today we proudly wore blue to help spread that message.

Today, we celebrate our Hospitalists, 300 physicians and 130 advanced practice providers, across RWJBarnabas Health. Hospitalists are physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work exclusively in hospital medicine. They coordinate care for hospitalized patients and collaborate with community primary care providers to ensure continuity of care when a patient leaves the hospital.
