Somerville Rescue Squad participated in K9 Tactical First Aid hosted by Laura Kendall from Train to Respond,LLC. Somerville is a vibrant community made up of people and their pets. Squad members wanted to learn to care for our 4-legged members of the community. Time well spent spent!

Fortunately the only victim of yesterday's fire on West Spring was Tuxie the cat. Tuxie was given supplemental oxygen and transported to the animal hospital where a full recovery is expected!

Both rescues are now together, indoors at the "new" building called New Asgard. The Squad would like to thank the Borough of Somerville, NJ - Government for the lease on the building and our brothers and sisters at the Somerville Fire Department for maintining so well over the years. Second floor renovations are underway. EMS operations will continue out of the new Emergency Services Facility on Gaston Ave. while rescue, special operations and other administrative functions are found at New Asgard.

Nothing brings out the best of Somerville than the Tour of Somerville Bike Races! Planning for this even begins early in the year and culminates in a safe day for all riders and spectators! Hats off to the Somerville Police Department and Borough of Somerville, NJ - Government Office of Emergency Management and Somerset County CERT. Most of all, thanks to all our EMTs, crew assistants, cadets and Tech Rescue Team members for giving back to our community on such a special day. Thanks to all mutual aid EMS agencys and Somerset County EMS Coordinators for your outstanding assistance!
