4 Week Workshop Series in March: Awaken & Align with 2025
Duration: 4 weeks (one session per week), Thursdays 7:30pm - 9:00pm in March
Theme: Aligning your body, mind and spirit for a transformative and balanced year ahead. (Re)set positive intentions for the rest of the year ahead, nurture your body and develop habits that support your long-term wellbeing.
Week 1: "Setting Intentions & Clearing the Mind"
Focus: Goal setting, meditation and cultivating a mindful mindset for the rest of the year.
Class Theme: The first week will focus on clearing out the clutter of the past year and setting powerful intentions for the rest of the year. We'll work through breathwork and gentle movement to release old energy, followed by an intention-setting meditation to manifest future goals.
Key Poses: Sun Salutations, gentle twists, forward folds and restorative poses.
Extra: Savasana and journaling exercise for setting intentions and personal goals.
Takeaway: Participants will leave with a journal or vision board to reflect upon their intentions throughout the year.
Sample Sequence:
Begin with a short, guided meditation to clear the mind and invite new energy.
A gentle flow (vinyasa or hatha) with a focus on breathing and moving with intention.
Conclude with seated meditation and journaling prompts for goal setting.
Week 2: "Building Resilience & Strength"
Focus: Physical strength, mental focus and staying grounded in your practice.
Class Theme: Week 2 will focus on cultivating resilience and inner strength. This class will incorporate dynamic movement and more advanced asanas to challenge both the body and mind. This class will help participants understand how to stay grounded even when life gets tough.
Key Poses: Warrior poses, plank variations, arm balances and balancing poses.
Extra: Breathwork (pranayama) to build internal heat and focus.
Takeaway: Tools to build mental toughness and resilience, both on and off the mat.
Sample Sequence:
Start with a brief meditation to focus on your center and create a sense of mental clarity.
A strong flow incorporating arm balances, inversions and core work.
Ending with a guided Savasana and breath-focused relaxation.
Week 3: "Self-Compassion & Flexibility"
Focus: Emotional release, self-compassion and (both physical and emotional) flexibility.
Class Theme: The third week will emphasize self-compassion, encouraging participants to listen to their bodies and minds with kindness. Flexibility will be the physical focus, both for the body and in releasing emotional patterns. This class will incorporate restorative yoga, long-held stretches and heart-opening postures.
Key Poses: Pigeon pose, forward folds, backbends and restorative poses.
Special Element: Guided loving-kindness meditation to encourage compassion.
Takeaway: Students will practice approaching themselves with kindness, especially when things don't go as planned.
Sample Sequence:
Begin with a heart-opening flow, integrating deep stretches and mindful breathing.
Move into long-held restorative poses to encourage release of tension.
Conclude with a loving-kindness meditation focusing on compassion towards oneself and others.
Week 4: "Manifesting & Moving Forward with Clarity"
Focus: Manifestation, visualization and aligning with your future self.
Class Theme: In the final workshop/class we'll focus on manifesting our goals and stepping forward into the year with clarity and purpose. Students will be guided through a visualization practice and a flow that connects the body and mind to manifest their desired future. This workshop will also emphasize the importance of consistency and mindfulness in their practice moving forward.
Key Poses: Standing poses, heart openers and poses that create openness and space in the body.
Extra: Visualization meditation and manifestation journaling.
Takeaway: Tools for staying aligned with their intentions and visualizations, including action steps they can take post-workshop.
Sample Sequence:
Start with a gentle flow to open the body and create space.
Lead into a visualization meditation to manifest goals and desires.
End with a grounding sequence, bringing clarity and focus to moving forward.
Additional Workshop Features:
Pre-workshop Meditation & Affirmations: We'll have a weekly meditation or affirmation to practice daily and at the beginning of each workshop to stay connected with our weekly focus.
Post-Workshop Homework: Short and sweet weekly reading and journaling exercises to encourage ongoing reflection.
Supplemental Materials: We'll provide a workbook with prompts, affirmations and reflections to guide you through the series.
Community Building: We'll create a private group chat (text, Facebook, etc.) so everybody can can share progress, challenges and insights and check in as needed.
