🦶 STANDING POSES

Before depth — check your feet.

Press evenly through:
• Big toe mound
• Pinky toe mound
• Both sides of the heel

Stack knee over ankle.
Lengthen both sides of the waist.

Most “hard” poses become stable when your base is honest.

Ground first. Expand second.

🧱 CORE

Core isn’t crunches.
Core is control.

It’s what keeps you steady in:
• Plank
• Transitions
• Half Moon
• Jump forwards

Draw the ribs in.
Lift the pelvic floor gently.
Breathe without collapsing.

Strong doesn’t mean rigid.
Strong means responsive.

🔥 BACKBENDS

Backbends aren’t about being flexible.
They’re about strength in the back body and openness in the front.

Think:
• Press down to lift up
• Length before depth
• Glutes lightly active
• Rib cage contained

If you feel it only in your low back — back out.
If you can breathe steadily — you’re in the right place.

Open the front body. Stay steady in the back body.

Save for your next flow.

🌬️ Forward folds are about letting go 🌬️

A few reminders:
• Bend your knees
• Lengthen the spine before folding
• Let your head be heavy
• Breathe into the back body

Forward folds calm the nervous system and invite introspection — perfect for slowing down.

Nothing to prove here ✨

🎤 Teacher Spotlight: Meet Brittany Robertson

Brittany’s yoga journey began as a way to run — not physically, but from herself. At first, the practice became another pursuit of perfection: trying to fit into shapes, expectations, and definitions of what it meant to be “good enough.” But yoga, in its quiet way, had something else in mind.
Through movement, breath, and presence, Brittany learned to let go of control and return to sensation — to the parts of herself she had exiled in search of perfection. What she found instead was freedom: the relief of not needing to have everything figured out.
As a psychotherapist specializing in grief and trauma, Brittany’s teaching is rooted in somatic principles — trusting that the body knows what it needs. Her classes are less about fixing and more about feeling: attuning with curiosity, loosening the grip, and coming home to yourself.
✨ Somatic Flow
This class blends intuitive movement with vinyasa flow to invite you out of story and back into sensation. Expect breath, sound, shaking, laughter, and release — all in service of deeper embodiment and nervous system regulation.
Come as you are, with all your multitudes, and see where curiosity can take you.

⚖️ Balance is a practice, not a destination ⚖️

If you’re wobbling — you’re doing it right.

Try this when balancing:
• Pick a steady focal point (drishti)
• Engage your core before lifting
• Press down to rise up
• Fall out. Smile. Try again.

Balance poses teach patience, focus, and trust — skills that reach far beyond the mat.

What balance pose challenges you the most? đź‘€

Teacher Spotlight: Grace Drugge

Meet Grace Drugge — her yoga journey began in the living room of her childhood watching VHS tapes with her mom. Later she discovered Bikram in a basement studio, and eventually found her way to flow-based vinyasa during the early days of the pandemic.
For Grace, yoga became not just movement but presence: the body, the breath, the mind coming into alignment. She says the most profound moments happen when you stop trying to change your body and instead begin to live in it.
Her teaching style? Invigorating flows grounded in alignment + mindfulness, creating space for every body, every level, every story. Whether you’re stepping onto your mat for the first time or are deep into your practice, Grace’s class is a place to land, connect, and be.
✨ Join Grace’s next class — you’ll leave stronger, calmer, and more connected than you came in.

✨ Twist it out ✨

Twists aren’t about how far you can go — they’re about length first, rotation second.

A few things to think about in your twists:
• Inhale to lift and create space through the spine
• Exhale to gently rotate from the ribs
• Keep both sides of the waist long
• Use props — blocks + blankets are your friends

Twists support digestion, spinal mobility, and help us reset when things feel stuck — on and off the mat.

Save this for your next class 🌀

🎤 Teacher Spotlight: Ruby White

Meet Ruby White — Raised among Utah’s trails & ski slopes, a dancer, an opera-trained voice, a sommelier, tech pro… and now an enthusiastic yoga teacher.
Ruby’s tagline: “Let go of perfection. Breathe deeply, loudly and unapologetically.” Her classes aim to ground you in the body and invite you to express without restraint.
Ready to breathe loud and live fuller? Ruby’s class is your open invitation.

🎤 Teacher Spotlight: Katie Stock

Meet Katie Stock — Her yoga journey began in the wake of deep grief when her dad died suddenly at 22. The mat became more than movement; it became solace, space, joy.
Through many roles (clean-energy attorney, traveler, heavy-liftee, dog-mom) Katie brings to class the goal: feel good in your body, not defeated by perfection.
If you’re ready to explore joy with your yoga, give Katie's class a go.

At BE, we’re not practicing to perfect a pose —
we’re practicing to feel.

To notice.
To soften.
To let go of the story that we need to be anything other than what we are right now.

Messy breaths welcome.
Modified shapes encouraged.
Real humans only.

🎤 Teacher Spotlight: Victoria “Tori” Wiedorn

Meet Tori Wiedorn — Engineer by trade (mechanical & bioengineering), yoga teacher by heart. She started yoga to complement her running, but found the quiet, the space, the breath.
In her classes you’ll notice: playful sequences, long holds, attention to structure and detail — and yes, maybe a bunny or two (her pets remind her to not take life too seriously).
Join Tori if you like your yoga with a side of precision + play.
