Today I had a question that popped up on my Facebook group, that happens quite a bit.
The poster will list a whole lot of issues they are having with their horse, and then say “I looked for a video on these things, but couldn’t find one”.
I get this a lot, people looking to solve the problem, instead of the reason for the problem.
I thought I’d share my reply to her here
“You wont find videos on "exactly what she does", as they are caused by what the person is asking for, not what the horse is doing.
For instance, in the Chronically Rearing Eventing Mare series, there were no videos of 'solving rearing" and there was no rearing (except for the videos that the owner provided). If I had videos of her rearing, the rearing would have been caused by me.
Solving any issue involves going back to the beginning and working through the steps. What she knows, she will tell you, and what she deosn't know, she will also tell you, and working on those things will solve the problems, without having to address them (this is the hard part for most people to wrap their heads around.
I then gave her list of basic foundational videos to go through that would solve her issues .
Picture is of me on Bundy because I don’t really have any pictures of things going wrong, but I have a lot of them that show what can happen when you get the foundation good .
