It's the shortest night of the year... it's Insomnia Awareness Night 2025! 💤😴🫩🛌 Chronic insomnia is characterized by difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, frequent awakenings, and daytime symptoms that occur at least three times a week for at least three months. Most importantly, awareness of the availability of treatment like cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is available with sleep providers nationwide. 🥱🩺🧑🏼‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️

Access to care shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code or who you work for. Leah’s story is a powerful reminder of how our healthcare system continues to fail people living with obesity.

Despite evidence that obesity is a chronic disease, too many health plans still deny coverage for essential treatments—like bariatric surgery or GLP-1 medications—unless another condition, like diabetes, is present. That’s not just unfair. It’s discrimination.
