In this conversation, we explore how recovery can take a different path than expected. It’s a reminder that health isn’t always about doing more, but about realigning with what the body responds to most effectively. ☀️

Can you imagine being a health-conscious doctor who eats a whole foods diet, exercises regularly, has normal labs (blood sugar, cholesterol and CAC score all good) and has a widowmaker heart attack at age 34??

That’s what happened to my guest on the podcast this week. Dr. Stephen Hussey had a widow maker heart attack out of the blue. Yes, he was managing Type 1 diabetes which put him at a higher risk, but he had been managing that well for a long time.

It got him asking questions, especially after the advice and information he received in the hospital that did not reflect what the real research says. He was recommended eight medications in the hospital and told he’d be on five of them for the rest of his life.

He takes none of them.

In this week’s episode we’re challenging the conventional heart health narrative - from the role of statins to the fear around red meat and cholesterol - and take a deeper look at what actually supports a strong, resilient heart.
You’ll learn why light, circadian rhythm, and your environment may matter more than you think, and how returning to the foundations of how God designed your body to live can shift everything.

This conversation looks at the evolving understanding of sunlight and melanoma. As more data emerges, it challenges the idea that the sun itself is the primary issue and instead points toward the way exposure is experienced over time.

In this episode we look at what the research is actually showing about sunlight and its role in protecting the body. As studies continue to link higher UV exposure with lower risk of death, it raises important questions about how we’ve been taught to think about the sun.

🏜️I’ve taught in some pretty cool spaces…but this is definitely one of the most beautiful! Two things I want to tell you about this:

1. This was at an . We’ve traveled to some very beautiful places (like Moab…pictured here) and I’m so blessed to be a part of the retreat team. What you don’t see is - after this presentation - all of the women circled up and prayed for me. My presentation was on the power of Living Water. I gave this presentation only a few months after we lost 2 family members to the Texas flood in July.
It was hard but cathartic and THE LOVE pouring out of these women for me was immense. I’m so grateful. You should come on an Exodus retreat sometime! 🧡🌵🏜️

2. God has dropped so many amazing opportunities and blessings in my lap since I said yes to His calling to be a Christian Nutritionist. If you know my story, you know I was very resistant to it and basically said no thanks. 😆 But He didn’t let up and here we are.

In this episode, we explore how modern life has quietly pulled us away from one of the most essential elements of health: light. From the research on sunlight and disease risk to the deeper spiritual reality of what it means to live connected to the Son, this conversation invites a return to what we were designed for.

In this episode, we’re diving into the research behind why more Son and more sun is so powerful for your health.

We’ll cover:
☀️What the research says about faith, church attendance, and longevity
☀️The connection between sunlight and reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer
☀️How higher UV exposure is linked to a lower risk of death
☀️Why less sun may actually be associated with higher rates of melanoma
☀️The powerful (and often underestimated) effects of prayer

We are living in a world that is both physically and spiritually underexposed to light… and it shows.

Listen in and be encouraged to become a Son (and sun!) seeker, because just like you weren’t designed to run without sunlight…you were never designed to run without Jesus.
