She has officially completed her clinical hours and passed her state exam—what a big accomplishment! Kynley is now on her way to becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, and we couldn’t be more proud! 😊

🎤 Voice lesson of the day… from an SLP who apparently needs an SLP. 🤪

Watch closely. 👀
See those white-looking bumps on the edge of each of my vocal folds that are keeping my vocal folds from achieving complete closure during phonation? Those are vocal nodules — small, callus-like bumps that form from overuse and/or trauma.

My voice has been hoarse for about two months, so I finally went to an ENT to have my vocal folds scoped to figure out why. And there they were!

So what’s the plan?
💧 Hydration
🗣️ Vocal abduction exercises
🤫 As much vocal rest as possible
👩‍⚕️An appointment with an SLP that specializes in voice. Thanks to for her expertise!

Even we speech-language pathologists need reminders to practice what we preach. 😉

Please help us welcome Kynley Henderson to Connect Kids! Kynley graduated from UNC-G with her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders and is currently working on her clinical hours as she prepares to take her Speech-Language Pathology Assistant exam to become an SLP-A. 🎊
