There are many different approaches to therapy. My philosophy is that healing comes from within the client. As we work together, the client makes meaning of their life story, of the good and the bad. Ultimately, the client recognizes their ability to have agency in their own life choices. With efforts made towards self-reflection, self-care, and self-advocacy, healing is possible. This study notes that for many, this approach of longer term therapy, with emphasis on client reflection, rather than therapist tips is preferred by many.
