There is an old saying: "You get what you pay for." In the US, we (largely) pay doctors to see patients and for their "busyness." Thankfully, most doctors do actually care for patients in the process of seeing them. However, they are paid to be busy, so what do we see? We see, VERY busy doctors, by and large. In a direct practice, the doctor is paid to CARE for the patient. There is no benefit to seeing more patients in a day. Because patients don't pay the doctor to be busy, they get a doctor who (most of the time) isn't. If anyone has experienced this, firsthand, and would be willing to post about it publicly, I would certainly appreciate that (as most folks will tend to give more weight to that opinion over mine).
