We offer six one-week sessions in the summer & off-season programs called the Millhouse Mingles. Camp Millhouse was founded in 1937 and held at various locations until 1940 when the late Mr. & Mrs. Charles Millhouse donated eleven acres of wooded property in Greene Township of St. Joseph County, ten miles southwest of downtown South Bend, Indiana. The camp is currently operated by Camp Millhouse Inc., a not-for-profit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors. Camp Millhouse is an accredited camp by the American Camp Association. Camp Millhouse has grown to it’s present size of 45 acres through the generosity and nurturing support of the Board of Directors and the surrounding community. Camp Millhouse has survived solely on the support of the community, through fundraisers, other monetary donations and camper fees. We are not a United Way agency and do not receive government monies. We have been able to provide amazing experiences for our campers each and every summer thanks to the generous support of our donors.

💛🍼 We need baby blankets! 🍼💛

DSI is in desperate need of handmade baby blankets to include in our New Parent Packets! Blankets can be crocheted, knitted, or quilted. Ideal size is approximately 30 x 30 inches (but size is flexible).

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our camper, Amanda. She was a cherished member of the Camp Millhouse family, and her joyful spirit and beautiful smile will always be remembered.

We’re excited to share that Camp Millhouse has received a three-year, $125,000 grant — including a $50,000 lead gift — from AWS Foundation to launch long-needed cabin renovations!

Most of our cabins were built in the 1950s–60s and have no ceilings, insulation, or reliable cooling. With rising summer temps, renovations are essential for both comfort and safety. This project will add full insulation, ductwork, new ceilings with LED lighting, needed electrical upgrades, and full HVAC systems.

These improvements will create safer, cooler, more inclusive cabin spaces that support our mission of providing “a safe, traditional camp experience” for individuals with disabilities.

This project also aligns with AWS Foundation’s Promoting Social Enrichment initiative, helping ensure our campers enjoy meaningful, engaging, and accessible camp life. We are deeply grateful for the AWS Foundation’s leadership and partnership in making this possible.
