🌿 Growing the Future of Compassionate Care at Comfort 1 Hospice ❤️🤍

At Comfort 1 Hospice, we believe hospice is not about giving up — it’s about showing up. And now, we’re taking that mission one step further by partnering with a local college’s Community Health program to give students a full, hands-on hospice experience that changes the way they see end-of-life care forever.

Through this exciting partnership, Community Health students step beyond the classroom and into real-life compassionate care. They learn what hospice truly means: dignity, comfort, presence, and family-centered support. From shadowing nurses and aides to understanding interdisciplinary teamwork, students see firsthand how powerful hospice can be — not just for patients, but for families and caregivers too.

Hospice is often misunderstood. Many students come in unsure, even hesitant. But after spending time with our team, witnessing gentle bedside care, meaningful conversations, and the beauty of comfort-focused medicine, perspectives begin to shift. Walls come down. Hearts open.

We are proud to help shape the next generation of nurses to be more confident, informed, and compassionate when discussing hospice. By introducing future healthcare professionals to hospice early in their careers, we are helping create providers who are not afraid of these conversations — but instead approach them with knowledge, empathy, and confidence.
