Half the game is getting yourself out of environments that are no longer serving you.

I grew up in San Diego and moved to Phoenix thinking a fresh start would fix everything. It didn't. I was still drinking, still stuck in the same habits, just in a different place. When COVID hit, everything slowed down and I had to face myself. I was drinking alone, gaining more weight, and heading toward an early grave.

Eventually, I got tired of it, tired of feeling stuck, tired of being a victim to my own self-destructive decisions, tired of knowing I wanted more but doing nothing about it. So I went cold turkey.

Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.

Slowly, things started to shift. I started showing up for myself, believing I was capable of becoming someone different. Along the way, I found the love of my life, someone who saw me for not who l was but who l was becoming. We both knew Arizona wasn't where we wanted to build our future. So after we got married, we packed everything up and moved to the East Coast to start fresh. Looking back, it wasn't just about moving locations, it was about moving forward. Leaving behind the environments, habits, and versions of myself that were keeping me stuck.

If you're feeling stuck right now, whether it's a place, a habit, or a version of yourself you've outgrown just know this...

You're allowed to start over.
You're allowed to change your story.
And you're allowed to build a life that feels bigger than your past.

I didn't change overnight.
I just made one hard decision at a time.
And those decisions saved my life 🙏🏻
