Soma Vermont is a relationship-driven gym centered around personal growth, relationship building and attention to detail. Soma VT offers personal training, small group training, gym membership, massage therapy and works closely with Movement Matters, a Physical Therapy practice that shares the space at 2069 Williston Road in South Burlington. Sam Orfanidis, one of Soma VT’s trainers, has over 12 y
ears of experience as a personal trainer and owned his own gym, Spectac, for 5 years. He served as the Director of Operations and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with Concept Move for 3 years prior to joining Soma Vermont. He also has coached a women’s powerlifting team which has won several awards over the years, both individual accolades and team victories. Emma Murphy recently completed an additional certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine to add to her fast-growing resume of experience which already includes work in dance, martial arts, physical therapy and personal training. Emma herself is an accomplished athlete within the martial arts community and serves as an example for those that she coaches. Soma Vermont is influenced by Kevin’s work in professional baseball with the Oakland Athletics and his work with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, where he has served as State Director and been a part of numerous advisory boards. Kevin also has a passion for health outcomes with his work as an Exercise Physiologist with the Academy of Sports Medicine. Every coach has a plan for their members and are seeking to drive their health and fitness outcomes in the safest and most effective ways possible. Soma is a place where members can be comfortable and confident that their health and fitness are in capable hands.
