Our holiday parade season kicks off December 2nd at 7 PM for the Colonial Heights Christmas Parade — and we can’t wait to see you on the Boulevard! ⭐️

Abraxas Home Care will be rolling through with our 21-passenger bus, our Winter Wonderland float, and our leadership team on Segways spreading cheer all night long!

Come out, wave, smile, and celebrate the magic of the season with us! ❄️💙🎅

The vision that began in 2016 still stands tall today—stronger, broader, and more impactful than ever. What started as a heartfelt mission rooted in compassion, advocacy, and inclusion has evolved into a thriving network of services that continues to change lives across Central Virginia.

As Director of Operations at Abraxas Home Care, I am proud of the extraordinary progress our team has achieved. Our Residential Support Services in Chesterfield County are expanding, creating safe, supportive homes centered on dignity, trust, and person-centered care. Meanwhile, our Integrated Community Involvement and Engagement Program, headquartered in Hopewell, empowers individuals to build meaningful relationships, develop essential life skills, and participate fully in the communities they call home.

This year marks another important milestone as we prepare to open our new corporate office in Hopewell on November 10th, 2025—a space that will serve as both a foundation for continued growth and a beacon of our dedication to quality, inclusion, and service excellence.

As we move into 2026, Abraxas Home Care stands proud as a trusted community partner—changing lives, creating opportunities, and redefining what compassionate care looks like.

🏡 Update: New Residence Nearing Capacity

Three of four beds are now filled at our Kalliope location — a clear indication of the growing need for additional homes that offer person-centered, individualized approaches to care.

Our Community-Based Engagement Program, which operates independently from our residential services, has also reached capacity and is currently maintaining a waitlist. This continued demand highlights the importance of expanding access to quality, community-integrated supports that promote independence, inclusion, and meaningful engagement.

At Abraxas Home Care, we remain committed to developing programs and environments where every individual is supported in achieving their highest quality of life.

By January 2026, we’re on track to triple in size, creating more opportunities for care, connection, and community impact than ever before.
