Out of an abundance of caution and in alignment with the City of Hopewell and Chesterfield County schools in the areas we serve, our main office will remain closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

🚐 Community Engagement and Transportation services will also be closed.

The safety of those we support, our staff, and our community remains our top priority. Please stay safe and monitor this page for further updates as conditions change.

⚠️ Weather Operations Update – Monday, January 26

Due to ongoing hazardous road conditions, all Community Engagement and Transportation services for Monday, January 26 are hereby canceled.

🚫 No routine transportation or community outings will take place.

🚨 Only essential travel will be permitted to ensure the safety of the individuals we support and our staff.

Our central office will remain closed. Monday but will have remote support when needed.

Our team continues to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates as needed. Safety remains our top priority.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please stay safe and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.

Chesterfield County has declared a local state of emergency!!

Chesterfield County has declared a local state of emergency in advance of Winter Storm Fern, which could bring snow and significant ice beginning Saturday afternoon/evening and continuing through Monday.

The county’s Emergency Operations Center has been activated to coordinate resources and prepare for potential impacts.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed, limit travel when possible, and follow guidance from local officials and VDOT as conditions develop.

🚨 CODE W – RED ALERT 🚨

Effective Friday at 2200 (10:00 PM), due to hazardous winter weather conditions, all weekend travel through Monday is hereby canceled.

Effective Friday at 2200:

❄️ All transportation and community engagement services are suspended through Monday

🚍 No non-essential travel will occur

🛑 Safety remains our top priority

✅ Employee Emergency Transportation Services are in full effect.

Abraxas Home Care will provide transportation for all residential staff, upon request, beginning Friday at 2200, to ensure safe arrival to and from assigned residential shifts during the weather event.

Our Snow Response Team has been fully activated and is actively monitoring road conditions, staffing coverage, and residential safety to maintain continuity of care.

Additional updates will be provided as conditions change and services can safely resume.

Due to the forecast of significant snowfall and unsafe travel conditions, our agency will operate under CODE W beginning Friday at 3:00 PM through Monday afternoon.

🚫 No Transportation or Community Engagement services will be provided Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.
