Ready to start the new year feeling stronger, moving better and living healthier? Join us for a Community Wellness Program starting January 6! This 12-week, beginner-friendly series combines movement and education to help you improve mobility, balance, endurance and overall well-being.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Leggett Building, 300 E. Ferrell Street, South Hill, VA.

The cost for the full program is $150 with payment options available. No registration is required. For more information, call 434-584-5140.

On the eleventh day of cheer... On the eleventh day of cheer... In 2025, the CMH Foundation invested over $405,000 toward essential medical technology and patient support. These community-funded initiatives included: acquiring a state-of-the-art EBUS machine and a video rhino-laryngoscope for precise diagnostics, modernizing oncology treatment areas and updating resident facilities with new furnishings and connectivity tool, and providing emergency financial aid, maternal care kits, and specialized equipment for outpatient monitoring.

The auxiliary team had $7,000 in total sales over a two-day period for their Christmas sale and welcomed three new members for a total of 38 active members of the CMH Auxiliary.

On the tenth day of cheer... CMH welcomed the first cohort of its Family Medicine Residency Program, a new rural track designed to combine the expertise of a growing community-based hospital with VCU’s Department of Family Medicine.

Two residents, Dr. Aneela Ijaz and Dr. Khalifa Al-Sulaiti, relocated to South Hill in July and began caring for patients while engaging in multidisciplinary training opportunities.

On the ninth day of cheer... This year, CMH welcomed 13 rising seventh and eighth grade students to our Career Scene Investigators (CSI) camp this past July. The week-long camp allowed students to spend time with staff from many clinical areas around the hospital including the Emergency Department.

We welcomed 140 nursing students for clinical hours, and provided shadowing experience for approximately 40 students in 2025.
