* Smoother, Plumper Skin: Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a more radiant complexion.

* Supports Skin Health: Strengthens the skin barrier, aids in moisture retention, and acts as an effective post-procedure treatment (e.g., after fillers or microneedling).

What you eat has an effect on your skin. Here are some of the best foods and drinks to keep your skin healthy:

🥗 Best Foods for Skin

* Berries & Fruit: Blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and pomegranates are high in antioxidants, which fight free radicals and reduce signs of aging.

* Healthy Fats & Fish: Salmon, mackerel, and sardines contain Omega-3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation, enhance skin hydration, and improve skin barrier function.

* Vegetables & Seeds: Avocado (vitamins C and E), sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach (beta-carotene), and walnuts (omega-3) support skin repair.

* Skin-Boosting Foods: Tomatoes (lycopene for UV protection), walnuts (Omega-3), and dark chocolate (antioxidants) help keep skin firm.

* Probiotic Foods: Yogurt, kimchi, and sauerkraut promote gut health, which is linked to clearer, acne-free skin.

🍵 Best Drinks for Skin

* Water: Essential for maximum hydration and to keep skin looking plump and glowing.

* Green Tea: Contains antioxidants that fight inflammation and reduce oiliness.

* Fermented Drinks: Kombucha and kefir are packed with probiotics and antioxidants.

❌ Foods to Limit

NeoGen PSR (Plasma Skin Regeneration) — Summary

* What it is: A non‑invasive resurfacing treatment that uses plasma energy (ionized gas) to deliver controlled thermal injury to the epidermis and dermis, stimulating collagen and elastin remodeling.

* How it works: Pulses of plasma trigger wound‑healing pathways that improve skin texture, tone, laxity, and scarring.

* Common uses: Fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, texture irregularities, enlarged pores, acne scars, sun damage, and pigmentation on the face, neck, eyelids, and hands.

* Procedure: Topical anesthetic applied; treatment sessions last ~20–60 minutes depending on area; device delivered in calibrated passes. Number of passes and energy settings tailored to skin type and goals.

* Typical course: 1–3 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart for moderate concerns; some providers offer single high‑energy treatments for more dramatic resurfacing.

* Results timeline: Gradual improvement begins within weeks as collagen remodels; continued improvement for 3–6 months. Many patients see long‑term texture and firmness gains.

* Downtime and recovery: Mild–moderate redness, swelling, crusting, and temporary darkening/crusting of treated areas for ~3–7 days (longer with higher settings). Sun avoidance is essential during healing.

* Aftercare: Gentle cleansing, hydrating ointments as directed, and daily broad‑spectrum SPF. Avoid retinoids and exfoliants until fully healed.

* Benefits vs alternatives: Offers deeper remodeling than many superficial non-ablative options with less downtime than full ablative resurfacing (e.g., CO2 laser) when appropriately chosen. Ideal for patients seeking noticeable renewal without surgical intervention.

The Alma Hybrid is an advanced, FDA-approved laser treatment for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation.

It combines two laser technologies: fractional CO₂ (ablative) to treat the skin’s surface and a 1570 nm (non-ablative) laser to stimulate deeper collagen. This allows for customized treatment with less downtime than traditional CO₂ lasers.

Key Benefits

• Dual laser technology: Treats both the surface and deeper layers of skin.
• Less downtime: Leaves small areas of healthy skin untouched to speed healing.
• Versatile: Treats acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage, skin laxity, and surgical scars.
• Multiple areas: Can be used on the face, neck, chest, and body.
• Gradual results: Improvement may be seen in a few days, with continued collagen remodeling over several months.

What to Expect

• Treatment time: 15–45 minutes with topical numbing.
• Sensation: Warm or tingling feeling, typically more comfortable than traditional CO₂ lasers.
• Recovery: Redness and peeling for several days to about a week.

The Alma Hybrid is a considered a great option for deeper resurfacing with reduced downtime compared to traditional CO₂ treatments.

Microneedling 101 ✨

Curious about microneedling and what it actually does for your skin? Here’s a quick breakdown:

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses tiny, ultra-fine needles to create controlled “micro” channels in the skin. This signals your body to kickstart its natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production.

What does that mean for your skin?

* Smoother texture
* Softened fine lines and wrinkles
* Reduced appearance of acne scars
* More even tone and radiance
* Improved product absorption

What to expect:

* Numbing cream is applied for comfort
* The device is gently passed over your skin
* Mild redness (like a sunburn) for 24–48 hours
* Gradual, noticeable results over several weeks

Microneedling is customizable and can be safely performed on most skin types. Always book with a licensed professional for the best, safest results.

Have questions about whether microneedling is right for you? Drop them below or send a DM. 💬✨

Skin cancer is diagnosed and treated by a dermatologist.

Skin cancer is the abnormal, uncontrolled growth of skin cells in the epidermis, usually caused by UV (ultraviolet) radiation from the sun or tanning beds. It typically appears as new growths, moles that change shape/color, or sores that do not heal.

☑️ Different Types of Skin Cancer:

(See detailed images and descriptions in post)

⚠️ Basal Cell Carcinoma—

-Most common skin cancer.

-Grows slowly.

-Appears as a pearly bump, pink patch, or sore that won’t heal.

⚠️ Squamous Cell Carcinoma—

-Second most common skin cancer.

-May spread if untreated.

-Appears as a scaly red patch, or crusted sore.

⚠️ Melanoma—

-Less common but more dangerous.

-Can spread quickly to other organs.

-Usually starts in moles or as a new dark spot.

☑️ The ABCDE’s of Spotting Skin Cancer:

-Asymmetry — One half doesn’t match the other

-Border — Edges are uneven, irregular, or blurry.

-Color — Multiple colors or very dark black areas

-Diameter — Larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser)

-Evolving — Changing in size, shape, or color over time.

☑️ Risk Factors:

-UV Radiation — Excessive exposure to sunlight or artificial tanning.

-Skin Type — People with light-colored skin, hair, and eyes, or those who burn more easily from the sun, are at higher risk.

-Genetics — People who have family members that have had skin cancer are more at risk of developing skin cancer.

☑️ Skin Cancer Prevention

-Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or more to prevent skin cancer from developing.

-Avoid tanning beds.

-Have yearly skin exams with a dermatologist starting at the age of 50.

What is it?

Accutane (isotretinoin) is an oral prescription medication derived from vitamin A used to treat severe or stubborn acne.

How does it work?

-Targets acne at the root by decreasing inflammation and acne-causing bacteria.

-Shrinks oil glands and significantly reduces oil production, which helps prevent clogged pores.

What can I expect after treatment?

-Results most people see are dramatic and long-term, with acne clearing after one course of treatment (usually 4–6 months).

-Helps prevent future breakouts and reduces the risk of permanent acne scarring, improving skin texture and confidence.

Accutane may be prescribed when acne doesn’t respond to oral antibiotics or retinoid creams.

If you are experiencing stubborn acne, book an appointment by calling 801-569-1456 today.
