Even if pain lingers slightly beyond this period, the underlying structures are often no longer damaged. However, a new study shows that 1/3 of people with acute low back pain who do nothing about it will become chronic.

Feeling dizzy after a concussion, car accident, or sports injury? 🤕🌀 BPPV could be the cause.

It happens when tiny crystals in the inner ear move out of place, triggering sudden spinning with certain head movements.

Symptoms often appear when you:
👉 Roll over in bed
👉 Look up
👉 Bend forward
👉 Turn your head quickly

The good news: specific repositioning movements can often return the crystals to their proper place and reduce dizziness.

Back pain is not always about weak muscles. Sometimes it is about how well your muscles work together.

Research shows exercises focused on muscle control can help reduce back pain and improve balance.

A few helpful habits:
✅ Try slow core exercises like bird dogs or dead bugs
✅ Focus on quality movement, not speed
✅ Stay consistent a few times each week

Small improvements in control can help your spine feel more stable over time. 💪

Ever notice how headaches show up at the worst possible time? 🤕⏰

Tension-type headaches often feel like a tight band around the head.

Research has found that people with more frequent headaches often report higher stress levels, lower activity levels, and lower overall quality of life.

Sometimes headaches are a sign your body needs a break, movement, or help reducing muscle tension.

Does your shoulder feel tight when you rotate your arm? 🤔🏐

You might have something called GIRD, which stands for glenohumeral internal rotation deficit. It means the shoulder has limited inward rotation.

This is common among overhead athletes, such as baseball, tennis, and volleyball players. Repeated overhead motion can tighten the back of the shoulder and limit rotation.

A recent study found that stretching the back of the shoulder may help improve rotation and reduce discomfort.

Call our clinic to schedule an appointment if shoulder tightness or pain is limiting your overhead movement.

Kids today can use a tablet faster than they can find the TV remote 📱😄

But too much screen time may not be great for their backs.

Research has found that more screen time is linked with a higher chance of lower back pain in kids and teens.

Encouraging kids to take breaks, move more, and play outside can help keep their bodies healthy 🏃‍♂️

Think your headaches are caused by poor posture? 🤔

Posture might only be one small piece of the puzzle. 🧩

A recent study found that people with headaches had neck posture similar to that of those without headaches. The bigger differences were neck movement and muscle endurance.

Improving neck strength and mobility may be an important part of managing headaches 💪

Call our clinic to schedule an appointment if headaches keep coming back.

Your MRI says you have a rotator cuff tear… but that does not always mean it is causing your pain 🤔

The rotator cuff helps move and support the shoulder. Over time, normal changes in these tissues can show up on MRI scans.

Researchers reviewed MRIs from more than 600 adults and found that many people had rotator cuff changes even when their shoulders felt completely fine.

In fact, about 96% of pain-free shoulders still showed some imaging changes. This is why shoulder pain should be evaluated based on symptoms, movement, and strength, not just the scan.

Are you naturally very flexible or “double-jointed”? 🤸‍♀️

You may have hypermobility, which means your joints move more than average.

A recent review found that people with hypermobility may have a higher risk of disc problems in the spine. One reason may be that the discs and surrounding tissues are made of collagen, which can also be more flexible.

That is why building strong, controlled muscles to support the spine is so important 💪

Baseball season is here! ⚾✨

Throwing is fun, but doing it the right way is key to keeping your arm, shoulder, and back healthy.

Proper warm-ups, gradual pitch counts, and using correct mechanics can help prevent injuries.

Coaches and parents: encouraging kids to rest, stretch, and strengthen supporting muscles is just as important as practice. 💪

Check out this infographic for tips on safe throwing and keeping your players in the game! https://chiroup.short.gy/Nl45Sj
