👁️ New beginnings. I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining as Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, leading across , and all of our affiliated sites.

This is a full-circle moment—from training in through Ophthalmology, to time spent at the Cole Eye Institute, and most recently serving as Chief Medical Officer for the Cleveland Clinic Martin Health System in .

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Joan Miller for her inspiring leadership and legacy. It’s an honor to continue the incredible work she’s led.

This role reflects not just an individual path, but the shared accomplishments and support of so many mentors, colleagues, and friends in and at Cleveland Clinic who made this journey possible.

This weekend, I had the honor of delivering the 20th anniversary address for our residency class at .

It’s hard to believe it’s been two decades since we graduated at . In my remarks, I shared a message that’s only grown stronger with time: we can—and should—be the solution and lead in healthcare.

Coming back to Boston was deeply nostalgic—walking familiar halls, reconnecting with friends and fellow residents, and reflecting on all we’ve learned and accomplished since those early days.

Grateful for the journey, the people, and the purpose that continues to guide us forward.

Proud to see the continue to thrive and inspire. As the founder and past president, it’s deeply gratifying to witness the growth of this global forum—this year welcoming over 400 retinal specialists from around the world.

RWC has always been about more than just lectures—it’s about international collaboration, forward-thinking innovation, and a shared mission to advance care for our patients. This year’s RWC Unplugged session was a standout, giving emerging companies a platform to share science that offers real hope for the future.
