👋🏽 Hi! My name is Coral Seco. I am a Licensed Mental Heath Counselor based in South Miami. I am the Founder of Eccentric Therapy. As you can infer by my handle- I am not your average therapist. I am a native Miamian , with Caribbean roots. ⁣
⁣
Growing up, life wasn’t easy for me. I made a vow to myself to always show up as the “Adult I wish I had.” I know what it’s like to be sitting on the other side of the couch. I strongly believe that these experiences have molded me into the Clinician I am today. I believe in meeting my clients where they are & stem from a place of curiosity as we explore whatever your human experience has been. ⁣

I am a Trauma specialist who focuses on inner child healing, life transitions & eating disorders. I am also a Level 2 EMDR clinician. ⁣

If you know me, you know that showing up as the adult I wish I had, is my mantra. This is me, at age 6. If only I could hug this little sassy queen & just protect her from the hardships she’d endure. Although It built her into a strong & resilient woman, she would struggle. She was able to utilize her pain as motivation & although those who were in a position to be influential to lift her up, tried to break her down, she found her way. I am so proud of little Coco & the woman she turned out to be. I hope that this vulnerable conversation motivates you to look inward & reflect on how you honor little you.

Often times we look for external validation from others. Be it a compliment on our fancy bag, our jewelry, a “status”. When the reality of it all, is that you need to have that within yourself.

Earlier today I was asked by someone to comment on a certain celebrity interaction that’s now all over the media. “She has it all, a banging body, money, why should she mess that all up?” Me- “Because she’s still that fragile, bullied girl underneath all that lipo & filler.” When I broke down the action behind the issue they got a deeper look into the situation and were able to say- “well I understand that”.

You can pay to alter your body, but you’ll always be that sad person before the procedure unless you process why you’re dissatisfied. You’ll never find happiness until you can validate yourself. So stop yourself the next time you find yourself idolizing someone/ something & start feeling bad about yourself. The picture isn’t always what we see.
