We are thrilled to share with you our soon-to-launch company, Quilt.
Quilt supports families of children with learning, thinking, and behavioral differences. Through coaching, community, referral and administrative support services, we enable parents to confidently navigate health and education systems and save time.
At Quilt, we believe:
- Less stressed parents create healthier families and better outcomes for their children
- Kids do well if they can–challenges are an issue of lagging skills, not will
- Every child deserves to work with educators, specialists, and supporters who believe in and actively work toward unlocking each child's unique gifts and highest potential
- Everyone benefits from a supportive community, knowledgeable guides, and technology that enhances, not subtracts from, the quality of life
As parents of neurodivergent kids, Quilt is a deeply personal project and mission for both of us. We know the challenges of navigating not only schools and doctor’s offices, but playgrounds, camps, community spaces, birthday parties and family gatherings that are not always welcoming or supportive places for kids (or adults) who do not fit the typical mold.
We are using our backgrounds in tech and management consulting to bring order to the chaos and meet families at all ages and stages of their journeys.
- We are creating spaces for community and peer support through group coaching, resource and information-sharing.
- Through 1:1 coaching, we can help you plan your own roadmap to guide you through your own parenting shifts and build the support team to grow your toolbox at home, school and wherever else life takes you.
- Finally, we are building administrative teams and technology-enabled tools to save you time and keep all of those papers, medical records, and progress reports in one place.
You are not an octopus.
You are a human.
You are highly capable. You are good at a multitude of things. But you are a human, and humans have limits.
As the parent of a disabled or neurodivergent kid, a lot is expected of you and your time. Project Manager, Medical Scheduler, Insurance Care Coordinator, Advocate, Therapist, Researcher...and many more.
"The System" demands input, energy, advocacy, and experience to navigate effectively for the unique needs of your child.
Navigating these roles can leave you feeling stuck, isolated, and confused, unsure of where or if you can honestly share your individual experience. The frustration of repeating the same information on forms or to new providers only adds to the challenges.
