This holiday season at Mount Vernon, we featured 7 beautiful Christmas trees and held a vote among our residents and their families to select their favorite. After a closely contested vote, the oversized Gingerbread tree from Amedisys Hospice emerged victorious. We thank our partners for their role in making our first Christmas celebration particularly memorable!

Thank you Landmark Home Health Career Services for your beautiful and colorful tree! This one is in our first living room and at night, the glow is so warm! Thank you for the support for the PT/OT/Speech therapies and the companionship you've provided for our residents this year!

It sparks a great debate on colored or white lights? We know which Landmark prefers!

We have had some BEAUTIFUL trees provided by our wonderful community partners here at Mount Vernon of South Park. They have really given a magical and cozy feel to our community.

Over the next week we will showcase a new one everyday.

Today we'd like to thank our PT/OT partner, FOX Rehabilitation! We have seen such an improvement of independence for our residents from transferring out of bed or chairs and stability in walking- thank you to the wonderful team who comes almost daily and lights up the halls with steps taken and milestones achieved! Wishing you many strength gains into the new year!

We had a busy week at Mount Vernon! On Tuesday Girl Scout troop 16166 visited us with Christmas crafts and carols and on Wednesday Gallagher Hospice helped us deck our trees with custom ornaments! 'tis the season for all the holiday cheer!

We are also excited to welcome our two new residents today!

We had a special visitor yesterday! Thankfully his heart had already grown three times and left all of our Christmas decorations!

Did you know our kitchen is a scratch kitchen and we only use fresh ingredients? Today we had spiced pumpkin bites that came from our decorative fall pumpkins, gingerly scrubbed, peeled, diced, spiced and baked with love and creativity to provide a healthy dose of vitamin C, A, K, potassium and fiber! Needless to say... "Melt in your mouth delicious" was the consensus!
