Hi Friends. It's Moira-Cecily (Cissy) here. I'm just checking in to acknowledge it's been over a year since we posted anything here. Thanks to our dearly beloved Staci Kennelly for keeping our social media alive prior to that. We've been on pause since COVID began. I never envisioned a world where our "embody, empower, in love" work would have to be done virtually. So, we haven't been offering programs since March 2020. We may be back...We're not gone, just on pause and listening for next steps. Please pray with us as we seek what Love may be inviting us to offer as we continue to wonder and listen. Holding you all in much Love and Gratitude, from me on behalf of the board and core community.

"You, my friend, are flawed and perfect. You are a creation of spectacular, scarred, and weary flesh, with God inside. You can't help it. You are both."

Lost
David Wagoner
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

A Blessing for Traveling in the Dark (by Jan Richardson)

Go slow
if you can.
Slower.
More slowly still.
Friendly dark
or fearsome,
this is no place
to break your neck
by rushing,
by running,
by crashing into
what you cannot see.

Then again,
it is true:
different darks
have different tasks,
and if you
have arrived here unawares,
if you have come
in peril
or in pain,
this might be no place
you should dawdle.

I do not know
what these shadows
ask of you,
what they might hold
that means you good
or ill.
It is not for me
to reckon
whether you should linger
or you should leave.

But this is what
I can ask for you:
That in the darkness
there be a blessing.
That in the shadows
there be a welcome.
That in the night
you be encompassed
by the Love that knows
your name.

Every day
     I see or hear
          something
               that more or less
kills me
     with delight,
          that leaves me
               like a needle
in the haystack
     of light.

Above all, trust in the slow work of God…
We are impatient of being on the way
to something unknown, something new.

Rest in your God-breathed worth. Stop holding your breath, hiding your gifts, ducking your head, dulling your roar, distracting your soul, stilling your hands, quieting your voice, and satiating your hunger with the lesser things of this world.

A Prayer for Lent
O Great Love,
Heart of my heart.
Lead me into this Lenten Season.
Lead me into You,
into the Silence.
And in that silence
Help me to deconstruct,
To face the brokenness, the woundedness, the shame
all that keeps me from you.
May I learn to embrace it in Your Love,
To embrace all that I am,
all that You created me to be.
Falling into Your Mercy, Your Love, Your Grace,
Falling into You,
Into Wholeness.
Then send me out into the world
bearing Your Light more clearly,
bearing Your Love more deeply,
bringing Your Love and Your Light into a hungry and hurting world.
Amen.

A Walk

My eyes already touch the sunny hill.
going far ahead of the road I have begun.
So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;
it has inner light, even from a distance-

and charges us, even if we do not reach it,
into something else, which, hardly sensing it,
we already are; a gesture waves us on
answering our own wave…
but what we feel is the wind in our faces.

~Rainer Maria Rilke

“The spiritual life is first of all a life. It is not merely something to be known and studied, it is to be lived.”
-- Thomas Merton

Maybe the most spiritual thing we can do today is the thing that gives us energy, light, and life.  What makes you feel most alive?

Do not expect
to return
by the same road.
Home is always
by another way,
and you will know it
not by the light
that waits for you
but by the star
that blazes inside you, telling you
where you are
is holy

- Jan Richardson

In this gateway into what has never been before
Let our soul breathe hope
For the earth
For the creatures
For the human family

Come stand over here, just a step or two beyond the place you have occupied for so long, where you have worn the earth smooth with your pacing, where you have spent so many hours fighting the problem you cannot seem to solve. Take a break. Catch your breath. Come stand here, where you can catch a freshening breeze and see far into the valley below. Let the distant clouds carry your worry for a while; see how the sun empties the world of shadow. The answer you seek may be just a step beyond, a higher place where the view is clear of all obstructions.
~Steve Charleston
Thinking about this quote today.
What movements in your heart do you need to make? What changes can be made in how you are thinking and taking care of your mind? How can you create space to take a breath and renew yourself?

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend
of silence. See how nature—trees, flowers, grass—grows in silence; see the stars, the
moon and the sun, how they move in silence. We need silence to be able to touch souls.
