Taking care of your body looks different for everyone — for me lately, it’s been acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha at 🪷✨

A couple months ago, I walked in with painful ankle tendinitis… and after just ONE session, the pain was gone.

Now, I go on a regular basis to support my body even when I’m not dealing with an injury or pain. As a nutrition coach, I talk a lot about food as medicine — but true wellness is so much more than what’s on your plate. Acupuncture supports recovery, lowers stress, boosts circulation, and helps the body tap into its natural healing abilities.

So grateful for the team at Dearbody for helping me feel my best inside and out. 💛

It’s been several years since I wore the “Coach” hat. It’s time to bring it back.

Turning my passion into my second full time job. I’ll be returning to the gym space soon to do some coaching, and if I’m going to do it, I’m going to be the best I can be.

To do that, I’m turning to the best of the best. Just starting ’s Business Prep and Coach’s Prep courses where I’ll have the opportunity to learn from . A lot of my time away from the hospital will be spent diving into these courses, putting the coaching into practice on the gym floor, training myself so I can lead by example, working with nutrition clients, and building Braven Wellness as a business.

As Logan said in the intro, going to let this content annihilate me. Jumping in the deep end.

One of the highlights of my week is to stop by either the Thursday or Saturday Farmer’s Markets.

I love seeing all the fresh and local produce and foods.

Even tho it would have been faster to swing by the grocery store, I feel like the fact that this smoked salmon was caught in the past few days from my local river by Native hands and the berries were lovingly picked in my community contribute to the nutrition and my overall health.

Did you know that switching up your coffee order can save you money and calories without compromising on taste?

Here’s a quick comparison from my neighborhood Starbucks:

- **16 oz Iced Vanilla Latte** (4 pumps of syrup)
- **Cost:** $7.25
- **Calories:** 210

- **16 oz Iced Vanilla Cold Brew** (4 pumps of vanilla & a splash of half and half)
- **Cost:** $4.25
- **Calories:** 155

🔍 **Savings Breakdown:**
- **Daily Savings:** $3.00
- **Monthly Savings (30 days):** $90.00
- **Yearly Savings (365 days):** $1,095.00

💪 **Calorie Difference:**
- **Daily Calorie Difference:** 55 calories
- **Monthly Difference:** 1,650 calories

An easy way to further cut down on calories would be to switch from standard 2% or half and half to almond or oat milk, or simply ask for fewer pumps of syrup!

Prenatal nutrition and supplementation

Today I curated some nutrition and supplementation recommendations for a future mama. Insuring that mama is getting all of the necessary nutrients are vital for baby’s health, but it goes beyond simply taking a prenatal supplement. To get the most of of the nutrients, we have to think about timing and food pairings. Here is the rec I sent to this mama-to-be.


“I looked into this company and I like that they are solely focused on prenatal health. They aren't a supplemental company that puts out a prenatal in addition to the hundreds of others they have. I downloaded their guide where they compare their supplements to 75 others so you can see the pros and cons of the different brands.

I put in here the capsules, as well as a powder option, depending on your preference. There is also a recommendation for a pre/probiotic that may health with nausea, constipation and any other GI stuff you may run into. The one downside to their prenatal multi is that they don't put iron in them because they say that every mom has a different iron need and they want you to follow up with your doc to see how much iron YOU need. They say their iron works best on an empty stomach, but I never trust taking iron without food until your know your own personal response. For me, I have to have a full stomach before I take iron or I get very nauseous.

When you do take iron, you don't want to take it with dairy products or with your calcium supplements because it chelates the iron and it won't be absorbed. This is also one of the reasons iron isn’t in the multivitamin. Avoid milk, spinach, cheese, eggs, whole grains/bran for at least an hour before you take iron and for 2 hours after you take it. However, Vitamin C helps the absorption of iron, so try taking it with strawberries, melons, sweet potatoes or some citrus juice.”

As with all nutrition, it’s always best to make sure you are getting as many nutrients as possible from Whole Foods, but supplementation at the right time, with the proper pairing, can provide some extra support.

Two weeks until this scrub top becomes my uniform for 15 months!

All of my plans rapidly changed in March when I was accepted to the Bachelor’s of Nursing in Integrative Health program at the University of Arizona. I can’t wait to start! It’s the only integrative health focused nursing program in the country. I felt like this was the perfect next step after I graduated with my Masters in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine in March. I’ll have the opportunity to put everything I learned in my Master program to use in this nursing program.

On top of the nursing education, I’ll also be a part of the Honors program, the Arizona Nursing Inclusive Excellence (ANIE) programs and I’ve applied to be a part of the Wildcat Mentor Society.
