We’re grateful for Jasmine from Affinity Hospice. She’s the calm, steady presence who guides our team and our housemates with compassion during their most fragile moments. Her care, her heart, and her understanding bring comfort, dignity, and peace when it matters most. 🤍
Jasmine works with Affinity Hospice and is the primary nurse who visits The Heron House when our housemates reach the point in their journey where they need the gentlest, most intentional end-of-life care.
Anyone who has ever watched someone they love decline knows how heavy that season can feel. In our home, we grow attached. We know their routines, their stories, their favorite songs, their daily breakfast order. When their bodies begin to change and they start preparing to leave this realm, it takes something out of all of us. There’s grief, there’s fear, and there’s the quiet ache of knowing we are walking them to a door we can’t follow them through.
That’s where Jasmine becomes such a blessing to our team.
She is the most confident and understanding hospice nurse I have ever worked with. Her presence is steady and grounding. She doesn’t just observe decline, she understands the emotional weight of it, both for the person who is transitioning and for the family and caregivers standing beside them. She listens, she advocates, and she shows up with a kind of strength that feels like someone taking your hand in the dark.
What I cherish most is how naturally she practices in alignment with the values we hold so closely at The Heron House. Jasmine reminds us, even on the hardest days, that our housemates deserve nothing but comfort, gentleness, and dignity in their final chapter, especially when they may be scared or unsure.
She collaborates with our caregivers and works hand-in-hand with our nurse, Malichi, making sure every touch, every medication, every moment is focused on peace. She helps keep us levelheaded when emotions swell, guiding us back to what matters most: honoring a person’s last days with love, presence, and unwavering respect.
