We wrapped up our Volunteer Appreciation Week with a peaceful stroll along the beautiful Maine ocean. The sky may have been overcast, but it felt fitting–a gentle reminder that even on the grayest days, there is still beauty, connection, and gratitude to be found.

This week we celebrated the incredible hearts who give their time, compassion, and presence to others. Your kindness makes a difference in ways that words can’t fully capture. Thank you to each of our volunteers for bringing light , even on cloudy days. 💙

Today, we’re celebrating Jeff, a volunteer who brings creativity, connection, and joy to every visit.

Jeff creates personalized art experiences for each patient, thoughtfully designing projects based on their interests, abilities, and life stories. He takes the time to truly know the people he serves, making each interaction meaningful and unique.

Through art, Jeff helps patients express themselves and relive important memories. In one special moment, he worked with a patient to create a submarine in honor of his WWII service, along with a family tree that celebrates his life and legacy.

Jeff, thank you for the creativity, care, and inspiration you bring to our patients and families. You remind us all that hospice is about living fully, in every moment.

Today, we’re celebrating someone truly special—Roxie and her incredible 3-year journey with Affinity Care of Maine.

With over 960 hours of service, Roxie has brought comfort, companionship, and genuine connection to so many of our patients. Her presence is something families deeply cherish. As one shared, “She is the kindest person we have ever met.”

From gentle hand care with essential oils to painting nails, reading stories, playing games, and even helping a patient track the birds outside her window, Roxie creates meaningful moments in the most thoughtful ways.
