This Random Acts of Kindness Week (Feb 14-20), we’re celebrating the science of "doing good." Research shows that prosocial behavior doesn't just help others—it boosts your own mental well-being by increasing dopamine, serotonin, and your sense of purpose.

Simple ways to spark joy today:
✍️ Write a thoughtful note to a friend.
☕️ Pay for a stranger’s coffee.
💬 Give a genuine compliment.
🤝 Volunteer or donate to a local cause.

Small actions lead to significant impacts. Let’s build a more compassionate world together, one small act at a time.

If someone you know is struggling and needs help to find their sense of purpose, we are here with confidential assessments, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call us today at 801-264-6000 or visit saltlakebehavioralhealth.com to learn more.

This week, our hospital took a moment to celebrate the Lunar New Year and explore the rich traditions of the Chinese Zodiac. 🐉✨

To bring some extra luck and prosperity to our halls, we held a "Zodiac Search" where staff members looked up their birth year symbols to discover their unique traits—from the resilience of the Ox to the wisdom of the Snake. 🐍💪 Our kitchen staff even prepared Chinese food to support our celebration.

Check out our "Tree of Good Fortune!" 🌳 Some of our staff decorated their zodiac animal, filling our space with vibrant colors and shared stories. It’s a beautiful reminder of the diverse strengths our team brings to patient care every day. 🏥❤️

We wish our patients, families, and community a year filled with health, happiness, and abundant good fortune!

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM), and this year we're embracing the theme "Real Love Respects" to highlight that respect is non-negotiable. Did you know the 1 in 3 U.S. teens will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from someone they’re in a relationship with before becoming adults?

Help us raise awareness about teen dating violence by reposting this message. And if you or a loved one needs help, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE or live chat at http://thehotline.org.

We had a wonderful evening at Market Street Grill in Salt Lake City for our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) marketing dinner. It was the perfect setting to connect and reflect on the meaningful work we're doing.

A huge thank you to Ann Farley for her insightful presentation on ACEs. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are events occurring in childhood that can cause trauma and lead to toxic stress—a state where the body’s natural alarm system stays active for too long. When a child lacks a strong support network, this constant survival mode can interfere with healthy brain growth and weaken the immune system, leading to lasting medical and psychological issues.

As we look toward the upcoming year, we are energized by our recent successes and committed to finding even better ways to serve our community. Here’s to growth, collaboration, and a healthier year ahead! 💙

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) offer intensive services for individuals who need a higher level of care and more support than traditional weekly therapy, while still allowing the maintenance of work and home life.

• Our full-day program runs five days a week and offers an intermediate level of care. It features three unique programming tracks to choose from: mental health, trauma and substance use disorders.

• Our half-day program is designed for patients who need more support than can be provided in outpatient individual therapy. This usually consists of three hours of therapy three times a week and specializes in mental health, trauma recovery and addiction recovery.

• Our virtual half-day program provides three hours of therapy three times a week and focuses on substance use disorders. It includes psychoeducation, coping skills training and individualized reflection—all tailored to support patients’ unique path.
