Pose of the Month: Skandasana (Side Lunge)

This month, we're celebrating Skandasana, or Side Lunge, a fun and dynamic pose that encourages flexibility and strength while connecting us to the rhythm of the changing season.

Why Skandasana Shines This Month:

- Flexibility: As autumn unfolds, this pose helps release tightness in the hips and inner thighs, allowing for freer movement—just like the swaying leaves.
- Strength and Balance: Skandasana engages your legs and core, helping you stay grounded and centered as the holiday hustle begins.
- Fluid Movement: Transitioning side to side feels delightful and reminds us to embrace the flow of life, even amidst busy schedules.

Getting into Skandasana:

1. Stand Tall: Feet hip-width apart, arms relaxed. Take a deep breath.
2. Step to the Side: Shift your weight to the right, bending the knee while keeping the left leg straight.
3. Lower Down: Hands can rest on the floor or at your heart, keeping your chest open.
4. Switch It Up: Engage your core and flow to the left, repeating the lunge.
5. Keep Moving: Enjoy the rhythm as you alternate sides!

Tips for a Joyful Practice:

- Grab Props: Use blocks for extra support if needed.
- Mind Your Alignment: Keep your knee aligned over your ankle for safety.
- Breathe and Smile: Enjoy the movement and celebrate your body!
