THE GARDEN KITCHEN is a health education program established in partnership with the University of Arizona, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Pima County Cooperative Extension, The City of South Tucson, and Pima County. The Garden Kitchen offers seed-to-table gardening and cooking education, which means families learn about every step of bringing a healthy meal to the kitchen table — from growing and purchasing to preparing and storing. As a seed-to-table program, we aim to increase families’ food security by teaching community members the basics of growing their own food and shopping on a budget. We empower families with the skills and knowledge to make wholesome nutritious meals on any budget. Our interactive and engaging classes motivate community members of all skill levels to jump in and get cooking! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cook, our goal is to inspire you to make healthy food choices that have a lasting, positive impact on the health and wellness of you and your family.
