Aging isn’t one thing, it’s structure, skin quality, and lifestyle factors working together.

Understanding how certain habits and lifestyle choices impact the aging process is essential for anyone looking to preserve their skin’s vitality. From sun exposure to hydration and skincare routines, each factor plays a significant role in maintaining your skin’s health.
The best results come from a strategy: protect collagen, support structure, and treat the right layer at the right time.

If you’re considering injectables, biostimulators, or tightening devices, start with a plan-not a trend

Probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics modulate skin aging by restoring microbial balance, enhancing barrier integrity, and regulating immune and oxidative pathways, particularly through the gut-skin axis. In this discussion, we highlight current evidence on the role of probiotic-based interventions in skin aging and geriatric dermatoses.
Overall, microbiome-targeted interventions hold promise as a strategy for reducing age-related skin changes and managing skin conditions in the elderly.

I am excited to participate in the upcoming AMWC meeting in Monaco! The conference has done an excellent job promoting my areas of interest, including complications of injectables, ultrasound, the psychology of aesthetics, and body dysmorphia.

I am honored to serve as a jury member for the Committee that decides the AMWC awards. Additionally, my lectures at this year’s meeting in Monaco will focus on body dysmorphia, social media, and AI-curated beauty ideals, and the use of ultrasound in aesthetics.

Stay tuned for updates!

Platelet‐rich plasma (PRP) has emerged as a regenerative therapy with potential application in lichen sclerosus (LS). Our paper includes a series of patients with ge***al LS who responded to PRP. To my knowledge, this is a unique article in the dermatology literature. I am especially proud to have collaborated with leading experts in ge***al aesthetics, including El Attar and Delucia, on this publication. This study builds upon my previous research focused on female ge***al aesthetics and women’s health.

Stay tuned for more updates in women’s health, ge***al aesthetics, and regenerative treatments!

I am excited and grateful to have received the Maverick award once again this year for my presentation titled “Ten Novel Complications of Botulinum Toxin and Fillers.” This presentation was part of the Spotlight Stage session “Complication Confessions: Real Stories, Real Solutions”. Additionally, my participation in the comprehensive AMWC meeting in Miami was a significant highlight at the beginning of my year!

Here we focus on the aesthetically relevant symptoms of perimenopause and the approach to management. Most of these findings, including hot flushes, rosacea flares, worsening skin quality with dryness, sagging, and increased wrinkling, dyschromia, hair thinning, and cellulite, can be effectively managed.

We discuss valid treatment options such as hormonal replacement therapy, minimally invasive procedures, and topical products, including the new dermocosmetic regimens. Because many of these treatments are geared toward maintaining results, consistency is paramount for achieving successful outcomes.

GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Zepbound, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, which lead to rapid weight loss, may cause the “Ozempic face” which is characterized by:

👉Volume loss leading to sagging and/or hollowing

👉Skin laxity and a general loss of definition

👉Fine lines and wrinkles developing or becoming more pronounced

How is the “Ozempic face” treated? Your aesthetic provider may suggest the following:

👌Skin laxity treatments with MN-RF, HIFU, Ultherapy, and collagen-stimulating injectables such as Sculptra, Radiesse, or Profilho
👌For mid-face hollowing, volume restoration with a filler; this can also help with sagging
👌Fine lines and wrinkles can be treated as in every patient with resurfacing procedures, fillers, and regenerative treatments

So, talk with your aesthetic provider about the best options for “Ozempic face”

First study published in 2026! 👏🏻 I am excited to announce the publication of our study titled 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙢𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣: 𝙖 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨-𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡, 𝙩𝙬𝙤-𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮 in Clinics in Dermatology 🏆. This collaborative research examined the relationship between the clinical features of melasma and sunscreen use among 126 women attending outpatient dermatology clinics at two centers. Our findings revealed a significant difference in Melasma Severity Index (MASI) scores between those who used sunscreen and those who did not. Notably, year-round sunscreen use was associated with a significantly lower MASI score, whereas daily frequency and reapplication were not. In a multivariate analysis, melasma depth emerged as the strongest independent determinant of sunscreen use.

Stay tuned for more studies in injectables and sun protection!
