Things to ponder when it comes time for a massage. What really is the appropriate time frame.?…. 60 or 90 Minutes?
Both are a great time frame, but when it comes to needing extra focus in a tight area. The longer session can be the most beneficial for you.
A 90 minute session allows for a more relaxing and effective massage. It gives the therapist enough time to do any detailed work if you have concerns with a particular area(neck, shoulders, glutes etc). The 90 minutes allows more time at those areas of concern or soreness. It allows the therapist to take their time instead of rushing along to make sure the full body session covered.
In general, while a 60 minute session provides some relaxation and targeted muscle work, it’s sometimes a less thorough massage if you are looking to address the whole body including the hands, feet, and scalp. While looking for extra work in that area(s) of soreness or concern.
If you have a tight neck and shoulders, sciatic pain in your glutes or legs, or cramping in your calves, there’s not enough time in 60 minutes to work on those tough areas to truly get them to fully release, and then get to everything else.
Not only does a longer time provide a better experience for your body, but there are significant improvements for your mind as well! The longer session gives your mind and body the extra time it needs to fully relax into a state of zen. While allowing your body to fully unwind to get the full relaxation it deserves.
