Lori Calabrese, MD shares the side effects and risks of Type II diabetes, and shows how Touchpoints. 180™ offers weight loss w/o cancer.

Day Three at the was great because it was honest!

Not about what should work, but about what people actually live with. Neurodegeneration. Brain injury. Aging. Strength. Dignity. Change that happens slowly, imperfectly, and still matters.

What I appreciated most was how the speakers handled questions—not by rushing to certainty, but by staying grounded in physiology and reality.

It felt like medicine practiced with adulthood.

Day Two stayed with me not because it was dramatic, but because it was honest.

Across very different populations, the same pattern kept surfacing: when care aligns with biology and reduces unnecessary burden, people improve — often quietly, sometimes profoundly.

No heroics.
No shortcuts.
Just careful attention over time.

It was the kind of medicine that doesn’t trend — but endures.

Now we are starting day 3 with coffee and conversations and the room is filling up for another amazing day. 😀

One of the most powerful moments of Day One came after the lectures—during the Q&A.

That’s where it became clear:

💡 Heart disease isn’t caused by one bad number.
💡 It’s the result of years of metabolic stress, inflammation, and hormonal disruption.
💡 And we finally have tools to see it early—before a first heart attack.

The afternoon speakers challenged nearly everything we’ve been taught about cholesterol, risk calculators, and “normal” lab ranges.

Instead, they asked better questions:
• Is plaque progressing?
• Is inflammation improving?
• Is the body healing over time?

This wasn’t about fear.
It was about understanding.

And it was hopeful. 😀

If you’ve ever been confused by labs…
If you’ve been told “everything is normal” but don’t feel well…
Or if you’ve been made afraid of improving your metabolism…

You’re not imagining it — and you’re not alone.

Touchpoints180 was built for people who need careful, physician-led interpretation — not one-size-fits-all answers.

Sometimes the goal isn’t to change everything.
It’s to finally understand what your body has been telling you.

Cholesterol isn’t one number❗

Some risks are inherited.
Some are metabolic.
Some only become visible once the body is calmer and more stable.

That’s why thoughtful medicine asks why before reacting.

When metabolism improves, lab results often become clearer — not scarier.

Many people are told: “Your cholesterol went up — something must be wrong.” 😔

But sometimes, rising numbers don’t mean new damage.
They mean new clarity.

In my clinical work, I’ve seen metabolic healing reveal patterns that were hidden for years — not caused by treatment, but uncovered once inflammation and blood sugar stabilized.

This week, I’m presenting a real clinical case at a national medical meeting that illustrates exactly that.

At Touchpoints180, we don’t treat numbers in isolation.
We interpret them — carefully, thoughtfully, and in context.

What if food really could be part of your healing?

Many people don’t realize how much what they eat affects their energy, mood, and even their outlook on life. When the body struggles with metabolic issues, cutting back on carbs and choosing real, whole foods can make a powerful difference. Things like avocados, olive oil, grass-fed meats, fatty fish, and colorful vegetables help fuel the brain and body in a steady, supportive way.

When your body runs on ketones instead of sugar, a lot of people notice more stable energy, fewer crashes, and clearer thinking. On the other hand, ultra-processed foods and sugary snacks can quietly keep you stuck feeling tired, foggy, and off balance.

The good news is you don’t have to figure it out alone. With the right guidance, support, and a plan that fits your life, you really can reset your health from the inside out. Sometimes, it all starts with one call and one small step forward. 💚

Lori Calabrese, MD extols the far reaching benefits of ketogenic metabolic therapy (KMT) and how it can improve your mood and your health.

When your body switches from using sugar to using fat for fuel, many people notice fewer cravings and a steadier appetite. That happens because blood sugar stays more stable and your brain stops sending the same urgent “eat now” signals. For a lot of people, that means less mindless snacking and more control around food.

There’s also growing research looking at how ketogenic nutrition affects the brain, including studies that explore its role alongside treatments like ketamine for people struggling with eating disorders. While it’s not a cure and it’s not for everyone, it shows how deeply metabolism and mental health are connected.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in cycles of cravings, guilt, or feeling out of control with food, it’s not a lack of willpower. It’s biology. And biology can change with the right support and the right approach.

She wasn’t chasing pleasure. She was chasing relief. Low energy. Constant cravings. Feeling irritable, foggy, and worn down before the day was even half over. Each sugary coffee, snack, or comfort food promised a quick fix—and for a moment, it worked.

The edge softened. Her mood lifted. Then, just as fast, the energy crashed and the heaviness returned. So she tried again. And again. What she didn’t know yet was that this cycle wasn’t about willpower or “bad choices.” It was her body asking for help in the only way it knew how. When metabolism is off, the brain feels it too—showing up as low mood, agitation, fatigue, and that endless search for something that finally makes you feel okay.

For many people, learning how sugar, metabolism, and mental health are connected becomes a turning point. Real relief doesn’t come from chasing quick fixes—it comes from understanding what’s happening beneath the surface and supporting the brain and body together. Sometimes the first step isn’t trying harder. It’s learning something new.
