Part-time | $18/hr | 6–10 hrs/week

We hope to see you next Tuesday evening for this event! Stephen Hill travels all over the country to tell his story. It is one that is worth listening too. You may even win a $100 gift card to Oakland Pizza!

Stephen Hill, renowned public speaker, recovery coach, defense attorney, and founder of Speak Sobriety will be joining us at the South Windsor Community Center on October 7th for a meaningful and inspiring Community Conversation: on mental health, wellness, and substance abuse prevention!

Stephen has led conversations on substance abuse for over 1,000 schools, drug free community coalitions, and organizations across the country, sharing his cautionary tale of addiction to recovery and beyond.

But before Stephen had these accolades attached to his name, his reputation was filled with stigma. A once promising student-athlete barely graduated high school, dropped out of numerous colleges, was arrested several times, struggled with substance use disorder for a decade. He was in and out of countless treatment programs, lost friends, and cost his family severe emotional and financial hardship.

Just when it seemed like there was no hope, he entered an extended care treatment program in September of 2012 and began his journey from addiction to recovery. After 180 days in treatment, he made a choice to give himself a real second chance at life. Through inner strength, patience, hard work, and support from others, Stephen began to mindfully rebuild his life.

This shift in thinking is how Stephen overcame a severe substance use disorder. Today, Stephen lives a meaningful, healthy, sober life with his family and friends. His presentations focus on teaching resilience by taking what most people perceive as a weakness or negative experience and turning it into a life lesson for personal growth.

We’re so thrilled he’ll be coming to our community. This event is free and open to the public. Whether you’re actively struggling with substance abuse, worried about a loved one, or just want to understand these topics better, we’re certain you’ll leave this event feeling hopeful and empowered.

Good evening . National Night Out is this Tuesday August 5th!

This year we’ve added Bowling and Ax throwing (kid friendly!), a free raffle for a ride to school in a police car (SW residents only), and bounce houses to include an obstacle course.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Our student leaders are stepping up to educate, empower, and support their peers and our community by sparking real conversations, sharing resources, and spreading hope.

But we can’t do it alone.
