As 2024 ended, health officials were monitoring the global spread of the H5N1 strain of influenza. Primarily afflicting animals, hashtag human contraction has been minimal. A devastating train accident has occurred in Odisha, India, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair. At least 290+ people have been killed and 1,000 are injured. CHIRAJ is coordinating efforts on the ground to provide financial aid to the victims.

CHIRAJ in partnership with Hold My Hand started a new project in the Afar Region of Ethiopia. As part of the kick off we hosted a Iftar Giving last week as part of the Ramadan Celebration. The joy of our children in northern Syria is complete with the new Eid clothes, so we partned with Ghiras Alnahda USNFP غراس النهضة a non profit to provide full Eid clothing for children in the camps, in the last week of the holy month of Ramadan.

A symposium was held in the open space created on the basis of the "VCENTRI HUB" (Communication Center) to educate and support people suffering from mental health challenges as a result of Russian aggression. We had virtual experts from Columbia University, New York and International Psychology Organizations, New York amongst others share their experience and best practice.

CHIRAJ in associate with Heal – Corp (USA) started our humanitarian relief for the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. In addition, CHIRAJ coordinated with the Director of Health Turkey. CHIRAJ under the leadership of Dr. Rajeev Fernando will be assisting at a refugee center/ field hospital on a ship to assist the overwhelmed hospitals at the sites of destruction.
