Great Start Therapy Associates provides personalized and professional speech therapy and related services to children, adolescents, and adults. Our therapists have years of clinical experience treating adults and children with deficits in speech and language, voice, fluency, cognition, oral-motor function, sensory integration, social language and behavior, and fine motor skills. Great Start Therapy focuses on a functional approach to treatment with an emphasis on generalizing skills to maximize success outside of the therapy room!

Meet 𝑀𝒾𝓈𝓈 𝒞𝒽𝓇𝒾𝓈𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑒…

💬Miss Christine discovered her passion for speech therapy in middle school when she began shadowing some family friends who were in the field.

🎓She went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Communicative Disorders from West Chester University and continued her graduate education at La Salle University where she earned a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.

📚After graduating in 2015, Christine went on to work for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, in the Early Childhood Services Department, working with children 3-5 years old.

Keeping sessions relatable and fun is the hardest part of seeing clients for years. We have to grow with their interests and be in the NOW. TJ loves sports and is his FAV player so when I wanted to target his rate of speech we “called his favorite player” and then “asked for a call in return”. Targeted speech, articulation, social skills and made it functional!

We absolutely LOVE and HATE discharging clients!! This chicky has made AMAZING progress with her articulation including /r/ and after her re-evaluation was ready to be set free! We are so proud to say goodbye but we always get sad we won’t see that smiling face every week!
As always, we told parents to bring her back if they hear ANY regression in her speech. We’ll always be there 💕🌈 .slifer

When I opened Great Start Therapy, I had a dream, a prayer, and a whole lot of hope.
I dreamt that I could help as many kids as possible, give them individualized love, care, and advocacy.
I prayed that people would trust me with their babies, and allow me into their lives.
I hoped that little old me would make a small difference.
Owning a small business is not for the faint of heart, especially when you have your own babies at home and life outside of the office. I have had to become a businesswoman, even though all I want to be is a speech language pathologist. I have had growing pains, difficult decisions to make, and tears shed. But when clients run into the office and hug me, when their parents text me on weekends to share the interaction they had with a peer, when I hear the words “my child is improving so quickly here” I know that it is ALL worth it. And my dream is coming true. One day at a time.

Boundaries are so difficult when clients become family. TJ has been working with me since he was 1. We have spent years together. We have grown up together. I heard his first words, saw his first steps. I celebrated milestones with his family and am blessed to have them all in my life. Sometimes I have to remind myself that the snuggles, hugs and breaks in sessions are as therapeutic as the work.
