HAPPY SIBLING DAY!
Here's an idea to help your children bond. Have them team up together against YOU in a game or activity, rather than having them compete against each other. There's nothing that brings people together like having a common enemy.

I wanted to share this event that I heard about that seeks to promote awareness and understanding of the lived experience of su***de. This is such a complex and troubling issue in our time, and any efforts to shed some light on it should be promoted. Tickets are free.

Join and First Person Arts on March 16th at 2p and 6pm for a powerful collaborative storytelling performance “Embracing the Light.” These shows will feature local storytellers with lived experience with su***de, including those who have experienced suicidal ideation, made attempts, or lost loved ones.

We welcome everyone to attend this special event, whether or not you have been directly impacted by su***de. Our goal is to raise awareness and access to mental health resources in the greater Philadelphia region.

We have designed the performance to be a healing space, but we recognize that these stories may bring up raw feelings for audience members. Throughout each performance, we will have trained mental health experts available to offer assistance, and we will provide resources and information to anyone seeking support.

"EVERY KID IS DIFFERENT"
Perhaps one of the most common parenting clichés thrown around is that every child is different. Maybe your son isn't reading as quickly as your daughter did. Maybe your daughter is much more emotional than the other girls in her class. The truth is, there are norms for child development, but there is also a RANGE for normal. Besides that, each of us are born with a particular inborn temperament, with a particular set of parents raising us, and at a particular moment in time and in history. Each of us are a unique creation, and that’s okay. The world would be awfully boring if we were all exactly the same, don’t you think?
