Ronald G. Worley

Ronald G. Worley, affectionately known as Papaw, was born on April 1, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, and left this world after a brave fight with cancer on December 6, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi. He will be remembered as a larger-than-life presence, a hard worker, a family man, and a true jokester whose lasting impact will be cherished by all who knew him.

He possessed a personality that sparkled with laughter and love, often referred to as "Oscar the Grouch," particularly in the early hours of the day. Yet, behind that sometimes grumpy facade lay a heart brimming with care and warmth. Ron was truly a funny soul, drawing everyone into his orbit with his crazy antics and unwavering energy. His love for life was most evident during family camping trips to Cowan Lake, where he’d engage his grandchildren with delightful questions about how tall they had grown, all while he deftly tickled them until they squealed with laughter.

His devotion to his family was matched only by his steadfast belief in God, guiding him through the highs and lows of life. Ron was proud of his accomplishments, particularly in owning his own business and nurturing a loving family. Wife, Amy, children, Melissa (Jeff) May, Amanda Iverson, and his grandchildren, Haile Iverson, Cailyn Campbell, and great-grandchildren Addy and Brayden Campbell, were the center of his world, bringing him immeasurable joy and fulfillment.

Beyond family ties, Ron’s spirit was shared with his loyal dog, Shila, who stood by him through the seasons of his life. His brothers William (Sharon), Dan (Patty), and Kenneth (Sandra), alongside his sister Lona (Rick) Frazier, carry the memories of his vibrant legacy, while the silence of their sister Sandy and parents William and Mildred remain felt deeply in their hearts.

As we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, we celebrate the laughter he sparked, the faith he instilled, and the love he radiated. Ronald G. Worley’s spirit will forever echo in the fond memories shared with his family, reminding us that life, though sometimes heavy, can be beautifully lightened with joy, laughter, and unconditional love.

An exemplary man of character, Donald lived a purposeful life characterized by his unwavering commitment to his loved ones.

Donald was a hard worker with high internal standards made evident throughout his life. He often held the highest rank of any group in which he was involved, as evidenced by his accomplishments during childhood (Eagle Scout) and adulthood, when he was chosen as Class President of the graduating classes for both his high school and nursing school. His educational pursuits reflected his belief in lifelong learning and personal development. A proud alumnus of the University of Arkansas, Donald followed a Bachelor’s degree with a Nursing degree from East Arkansas Technical College and a Master’s from the University of Memphis.
