We got good news Friday. Nate is scheduled to restart chemo Wednesday March 18th. They will admit him Tueaday night at 8 pm and start fluids. He will go down as early as possible Wednesday morning for a lumbar puncture with chemo. As soon as his urine pH is where they need it to be they will start his 24 hour chemo treatment. He will have levels taken every 2 hours until he has finished.

They will be watching everything much closer this time. He will have a billion labs pulled during this treatment.

He didnt have to have IV fluids this weekend. We just have to keep him hydrated with at least 80 ozs a day.

We have to go in Monday for labs just to make sure his numbers are good for chemo and he doesnt need blood or platelets before treatment.

Please pray for Nate's anxiety over this. He never looks forward to being admitted to the hospital but this one is a lot more stressful for him as well as the rest of us. Pray for our medical team. They have had to make a lot of changes for this treatment. The hope is that Nate's kidneys will handle this treatment better than the last one with a lower dose and slower rate.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate everyone of yall!

Nate has officially cleared his chemo drug. His levels are now undetectable. It took 3 and half weeks. He is apart of the 1% club because of his reaction to the specific chemo drug.

His kidneys are still recovering. We will find out tomorrow or Monday when he can resume chemo treatments. They will pull labs again tomorrow to check his numbers. Depending on what they are, the doctors will let us know if he's going to need fluids for the weekend or not. They have to be careful with that too because continuous fluids also stress the kidneys.

He has had a pretty good week. He's back to his normal self for the most part. It's good to see him playing his video games, laughing and hanging out with his friends.

His blood count is awesome. He is actually stable and holding above where they expect someone who is undergoing chemo to be. We can allow him to do normal things right now before he starts chemo again.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate all of you and your support!

Today was a surprisingly easy day for Nate!

They took him off continuous IV fluids. We're going to see how he does over the weekend without them. They lowered his rescue med dose to every 12 hours instead of every 6 hours. His chemo drug level is lower but still detectable. His kidney function is improving but still not back to normal. The fluids are also contributing to his kidneys being stressed so they're hoping with a break his numbers will improve.

We saw the cardiologist today because his blood pressure and heart rate are still staying high. He put him on a 24 hour continuous blood pressure monitor so he can see what happens at the hospital verses at home. He also increased his blood pressure medicine to see if that helps. He is only on a 10 mg dose from 5 mgs so its still a very low dose.

He's still off chemo treatments until he has cleared this. His blood clot seems to be gone. He's still doing Lovenox shots for a couple more weeks. They will do another ultrasound at the 6 week mark to check it and decide what needs to be done to prevent it from happening again.

He has the weekend off. We don't have to be back at St Jude until Monday morning! Yay! We'll see what we can find to do to enjoy a couple of days of freedom.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! We appreciate all of you!

We are home. We still have to be at St Jude daily until his chemo drug level is at 0. This will take time. He is still on rescue meds every 6 hours and 24 hour fluids.

Still no chemo treatments until he has cleared this.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

We're still in the hospital. He's just wants to go home now that he's feeling better.

His chemo drug levels continue to drop but it's still detectable. His fluid rate has been dropped again this morning. None of his meds are low enough to get him off IV doses yet but I'm hopeful tomorrow or Tuesday they will be. His fluids could be given outpatient at the current rate but it's not a rate they like to give outpatient especially with a patient that retains fluid when its given continuously.

His weight is almost back to normal but his output is still less than what he's getting via IV and drinking.

He went without his blood pressure med for a week so his blood pressure is staying high. This happens with a high rate of fluids too. They started it back yesterday so we'll see if it goes back to normal in the next few days.

I'm holding on to the hope that we'll be home by mid week. But we shall see.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! We appreciate everyone of yall.

It's been a couple of days since I updated yall.

Nate is still in the hospital. This one has been rough. This chemo drug definitely doesn't agree with him. He still hasnt cleared it. His nausea and vomiting has been under control for about 36 hours. It's taken 4 different meds to make that happen. He has mouth sores. Thankfully those aren't causing any pain. The rescue medicine he is taking is what they use to treat them so he's already getting it. They are also using red light therapy 4 times a day. He has his very own red light wand that will be going home with him.

His chemo levels have come down quite a bit. We are at the point where it will continue to come down until it's back to 0 but the progress will be much slower moving forward. His kidneys are under a lot of stress from all the medicine and fluids he is getting. His kidney function tests remain high, showing his kidneys are not happy.

The plan is to continue to watch his levels and labs and start weaning him off meds and fluids as his numbers improve. No one knows how long it will take. His body just has to do the work. He's exhausted and ready to go home.

Treatment is still on hold. Once they see how long it takes him to clear this chemo drug they will figure out how to do the remaining 3 rounds for this phase. Once his kidneys heal and recover he can resume chemo.

I will update when we have more news. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

The last couple of days have been a roller coaster for Nate.

He's okay. He just wants to go home. He is exhausted. This round of chemo did not agree with him. He is finally able to hold his drinks down. We're trying to get him to eat solid food.

His kidney function tests are holding steady but his kidneys still are under alot of stress. The rescue medicine that breaks down the chemo seems to have down its job. They are giving him another rescue medicine that kills the toxic part of the chemo every 6 houts. He's outputting more than they're giving him in fluids. He's still retaining about 8 liters of fluids. The goal is to get him up and walking to help move the fluid. He walked about half a lap around the floor last night.

His medical team is working on a plan for the other 3 rounds of this chemo drug. We know he will get a lower dose at a slower rate. We just don't know when he's going to be able to restart chemo. His kidneys need time to heal and recover.

We will hopefully be able to go home sometime this weekend as long as his chemo level continues to drop and his kidney function improves.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate everyone.

I have many reasons for not updating everyone until today.

Nate's kidneys did not tolerate his high dose chemo treatment. It had to be stopped early. And we are still at St Jude.

We will be here until his kidney function increases and the high dose chemo is out of his system.

The only way for him to clear the chemo is to p*e it out. They are giving him lots of fluids to help flush it out but he is also retaining about 9 liters of fluid. He can't p*e it out fast enough to keep up with what they're giving him.

He is sick at his stomach and vomiting. He wont eat and if he does it's only a bite or two. He feels awful and is sleeping alot, of course the nausea meds are contributing to his sleeping.

They are managing everything and watching him closely.

I will update as I can. Him and Kacey are our focus right now.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I have gone back and forth on posting all day. We have the rest of Nathaniel Lebo 's treatment protocol. It spans the next 120 weeks. To digest that much at one time is alot. To know that's what it's going to take to make him better is alot. We've been reading over it for a week. He signed the paperwork to get it started Wednesday. I will not share it all at once. I will share each phase as we start it.

Tomorrow he has appointments all day. His last two appointments start his next phase of treatment. He will get a lumbar puncture with chemo and then be admitted for 24 hour continuous IV high dose chemo. Every 12 to 14 days for the next 2 months this is what he'll do. He will also be getting 56 days of oral chemo. We will be inpatient until he clears the high dose chemo. After the IV chemo is stopped, they will start pushing IV fluids and checking his blood for the level of the high dose chemo. Once it's low enough, we can come home.

He has been doing great all week. He is definitely worried about these upcoming rounds of chemo. We keep telling him he's gonna be fine. He has this.

I will update everyone as I can over the next few days. Thank you for following his fight. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.

We got to come home Saturday afternoon. We needed a little time to recover and rest from this hospital stay. This one was not easy. It drained us.

He has a week full of appointments. We're already back at St Jude this morning waiting on labs, a doctor visit and possible transfusion depending on what his counts show.

Nate is doing good. He's a little tired but you know we've come to expect it.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing and following his fight.

I know I haven't updated in a few days.

This hospital stay has been a little mentally draining on both of us. Nate tries to remain upbeat and positive and I try to advocate for what he needs.

They were able to reaccess his port last night. He has a thickening under the access site. They don't know what it is exactly but are assuming its scar tissue.

He has a blood clot in his neck that they are treating with Lovenox injections. He is doing great with those. He is giving himself his shots. He told his nurses Momma had to learn how to change out his bag of fluid and antibiotic so he was gonna learn to do his shots himself.

He is ready to come home and sleep in his bed. They still have his IV placed and are only using his port access for his antibiotics right now. Everyone wanted to make sure there wasn't going to be any issues with his port.

Hopefully we'll be able to come home soon.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Your phone calls and text mean the world to us. Thank you for sharing and following his fight!

I went back and forth about posting last night and decided to wait until this morning. I honestly needed to focus on Nate and make sure Charlie and Kacey were good.

Nathan was re-admiited to the hospital yesterday afternoon. The staph infection he is being treated for caused a pocket of fuild to develop around his line and in the tunnel his line sits in. It caused a hard knot, fever and swelling so his port and line can not be used for the continuous IV antibiotics he needs right now. They had to place an IV in his forearm so we can't leave the hospital while he has IV access with continuous fluids and meds going.

Infectious Disease will come see us today and decide what they're going to do concerning his port and line access. They may have to remove his current port and place a new one on the opposite side.

Current plan is for him to stay until he finishes his antibiotics and fluids February 17th.

As soon as I know more and the family has been updated I will update here. Overall Nate is okay but definitely not happy about being here after less than 24 hours at home.

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts!
