Meet Will, Clinician at Northstar Recovery Center 🤝
Will brings a strong background in public health and addiction studies to his work supporting individuals navigating substance use, mental health, and life transitions. He holds a Master of Public Health in Community Health Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, along with a certificate in Addiction Studies, and is a master’s-level clinician providing individual counseling and group-based interventions. His work is grounded in evidence-based, person-centered, and harm reduction–informed approaches that emphasize collaboration and practical skill-building.
Will has a particular passion for brief interventions in collegiate and young adult settings, where identity, autonomy, and substance use often intersect. Through extensive experience delivering motivational and psychoeducational interventions, he helps clients examine their relationships with substances, clarify personal values, and develop strategies that support safety, growth, and self-efficacy. His approach emphasizes meeting people where they are, reducing shame, and creating space for honest reflection and meaningful change. He also contributed to the UMass Narcan Coalition, helping expand access to naloxone on campus and supporting training efforts for students, staff, and faculty.
Outside of his clinical work, Will spends most of his time with his wife and their two-year-old son. He enjoys being a present partner and parent, who enthusiastically and unapologetically subjects his family to an ever-rotating and highly eclectic range of music choices. A lifelong musician with a degree in jazz performance, he’s an avid guitarist and is always happy to talk about movies, comics, and music (especially metal and Steely Dan).
